Motion : This House opposes the libertarian theory of justice.
Infoslide
The libertarian theory of justice holds that justice is achieved when individuals can develop with the greatest possible freedom, affirming their individuality. It opposes theories of justice that recognize equality as the highest principle, considering that inequality of income or wealth is not intrinsically problematic. It states that the free market is the fairest mechanism for distributing wealth, as long as the resources used to generate it are legitimately obtained, and such wealth must have been generated through fair and free transactions. For this theory, the State must be minimal, and it strongly rejects paternalistic policies and moral legislation based on interpretations of what is morally correct.
