Victory Day is not just a date on our calendar, it is a memory connected to our collective soul. It reminds us where we began, what we endured, and how deeply liberty is rooted in sacrifice. In 1971, ordinary people chose an extraordinary path, students left classrooms, farmers laid down their tools, artists raised their voices, and countless unnamed heroes stood firm with nothing but courage and hope for a free tomorrow.

This victory was not gifted; it was earned through shared struggle, resilience, and an unshakable belief that dignity and self-determination were worth everything. From the bravery of freedom fighters on the frontlines, to the silent strength of Birangonas, to the unwavering support of families who bore loss with grace, the people of Bangladesh were, and remain, the true source of this triumph.

Our history shapes who we are. It reminds us that liberty is fragile, precious, and deeply human. When we honor our past, we do more than remember, we gather strength to move forward together. The shared journey that brought us here continues to guide us toward progress, compassion, and responsibility.

Today, we remember with gratitude. Tomorrow, we move ahead with purpose. Because a nation that remembers its sacrifices knows how to protect its freedom! 🇧🇩

Gratitude to the freedom fighters, and best wishes for our Victory Day! ❤️💚

And cut! It was a year of impact, a day shaped by liberty and respect for LOLA Chittagong!

So, to rejoice on our one year of impact, we celebrated the journey on 12th December. The celebration honored a year of milestones, international recognition by LOLA International, and the collective strength of voices gathered from Bangladesh and beyond, turning the anniversary into a moment of shared pride and purpose.🩷☀️

But there was a catch to it! Because, Bangladesh Students For Liberty collaborated with us for a profound dialogue on "Human Respect: Giving Ownership Back to People". The workshop stood as a reflection of libertarian ideals in practice where freedom and human dignity exist in harmony. Through conversation and collaboration, it highlighted how human respect serves as a bridge between liberty and society by valuing individual autonomy, protecting boundaries, empowering communities, and choosing persuasion over coercion.

Together, we embodied an equilibrium where respect fuels freedom, and freedom safeguards dignity, with affirming that a just and thriving society begins when people are trusted with ownership of their lives, voices, and choices.
Participants from all over the world included ladies and gentlemen from Bangladesh,India,Nepal,Bhutan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam making the day more diverse, impactful and multi-cultural collaboration of libertarian thoughts. The speaker, Takveer Miazi denoted on the importance of happiness and harmony on the aspect of Human Respect while the chapter lead, Effat Jahan Efa highlighted the journey of Lola Chittagong throughout the year. Our co-leaders Farhana Sultana Ananna, Arshi Irtiza and Nahida Amiri delivered their retrospect views during these sessions as well 💖

Remembering the Intellectual Martyrs 14 December.
On this solemn day we pay tribute to the brilliant minds who were brutally slain in 1971 in a ruthless attempt to cripple our nation’s spirit and future.

We honour Selina Parvin journalist and poet and other fearless thinkers like Munier Chowdhury, Sirajuddin Hossain, Dr Alim Chowdhury, Dr Fazle Rabbi, Prof Mofazzal Haider Chaudhury, Nizamuddin Ahmed and Prof Govinda Chandra Dev whose pens, voices and wisdom were silenced but whose legacy lives on.

Their sacrifice built our freedom. Let us remember, reflect and uphold the values they stood for. Shaheed Buddhijibi Dibosh we will never forget. 🇧🇩

LOLA Chittagong is proud to have another Chapter Leader to the addition — none other than Ms. Arshi Irtiza who is a pro-libertarian thinker and an activist from Bangladesh.

Arshi is also the Regional Coordinator of South Asia SFL Communication Track and has been the face of SFL for the past 4 years and branding libertarianism in her community. She was previously the National Coordinator of Comms Track and the National Coordinator of Bangladesh. Under her co-supervision and co-leadership with the previous RC of Bangladesh Mr. Rashid Shahriar, Bangladesh has won the "Event of the Year 2023" regionally and bagged the LibertyCon 2024 award for their signature event the "Bangladesh Classical Liberal Conference 2023". Her event management, project management, newsletter writing, content writing skills have benefitted the platforms tremendously.

She is also running the Impact Project — " Boithok - SASFL Podcast", with the Senior LC Dibbo Das. Arshi is gracefully making contributions to enrich the contents of SASFL, and LOLA alongside. Before even being the Chapter member of LOLA, she co-organized the Orientation of LOLA Chittagong, Her Weath Her Power, and Beyond the Ownership events.

Currently, she is working in a Government Funded Research Project as the Researcher of the University of Chittagong. Previously, she was a student of the said institution, in the department of Human Resource Management and pursued both BBA and MBA degrees.

Arshi believes in artistic freedom, individual liberty, Free Market principles and the ideology of Austrian Economics. She has been a wonderful artist, vocalist, writer and has achieved recognition for her artistic skills. Arshi has released a few of her music projects from time to time. We are honored and hopeful to have such inspirational figures for our community. The Chittagong Chapter will live to the fullest with the leadership of Arshi and more like her. ✨

LOLA Chittagong has recently organized an awareness workshop in honor of the endurance of María Oropeza, a Venezuelan LOLA leader, lawyer, and chief of the campaign for María Corina Machado. On August 6, 2024, María was violently taken from her home, during a livestream in Portuguesa, Venezuela, because she dared to challenge the regime. She was transferred to El Helicoide—Latin America’s most notorious political prison and biggest torture center. As the person responsible for securing a historic 64% win for opposition candidate Edmundo González in a state long considered a socialist stronghold, María became a powerful symbol of the liberty movement’s momentum and a target. Since then, she’s been held on politically motivated charges, including terrorism and incitement to hatred, absurd accusations widely condemned by human rights defenders. She has endured harsh conditions, isolation from her family, and restricted access to legal counsel.

In light of the incident, LOLA Chittagong had an event "Political Regression? Peaceful Cohesion”, where the women leaders took a short training on Nonviolent Peaceful Protests led by one of the Chapter Leaders . Along with that, the Chapter Lead shared the concern to the local leaders in support of María's freedom. The training shared the impacts and positivism of having Peaceful Protest, besides the necessity of Civil Resistance to establish rights and liberty.

January 3rd 2025, the birth of the LOLA Chittagong chapter came with a bunch of interactive workshops and networking sessions at the event "Women In Liberty". The day when we emerged, first collaborated with another pro-liberty organization SFL, met Revana Sharafuddin, a researcher from Mercatus Center who also happens to be a libertarian figure from Bangladesh, and so many things happened that day!

So in the interactive workshop on the event, participants were divided into three teams, each assigned a real-world advocacy motion. Teams worked on their problem-solving, persuasion, and leadership skills, culminating in representing what they have worked on through 2-minute pitches, judged by a panel. One representative from each team participated in the pitch. The best speaker was awarded for their outstanding communication and leadership skills.

And so, the winner was none other but Mehezabeen Tabassum Mathin from TEAM 2! Kudos to the team 2 for their hardwork and quick brainstorming as a team, and to Mathin for delivering the idea outstandingly!
