“One time, a large part of Europe was under Muslim rule. But unfortunately, it was eventually lost. The reason was that although the Muslims conquered lands, they failed to conquer the hearts of the people. The spiritual path shown by the Prophets, Messengers, Sahaba, and Awliya-e-Kiram was founded upon humility, harmony, and the practice of Tasawwuf (Islamic spirituality).
However, instead of following that path, Muslims became absorbed in luxury and arrogance, and as a result, they suffered defeat at the hands of non-Muslims. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims were killed, while many others fled to save their lives.
On the other hand, the Awliya-e-Kiram — such as Data Ganj Bakhsh in Lahore, Khwaja Gharib Nawaz in Ajmer, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi, Hazrat Shah Jalal Yemeni, Shah Makhdum, Ghausul Azam Maizbhandari, Baba Bhandari, and countless other saints in Bengal — won the hearts of the people across South and East Asia.
They did not need to wage wars; love and generosity were their greatest weapons. The Awliya-e-Kiram firmly rooted the banner of Islam deep within the foundations of this subcontinent. That is why, even today, the people of the Indo-Pak subcontinent possess the deepest love and devotion towards Islam.”
