A delegation from AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Asia Regional Office—Dr. Yugang Bao, Deputy Chief, and Ms. Kunthea Phin, Associate Director of Finance, Asia Bureau—visited Bangladesh in January 2026.
During the visit, they held meetings with key stakeholders, including the National AIDS/STD Control Program (NASC), Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Discussions with Directors, Deputy Directors, and senior management focused on future collaboration in HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment, care, advocacy, and Capacity building.
AHF also met potential NGO partners to explore prevention and testing programs, as well as community networks and referral systems.
The meetings emphasized future program operations and partnership opportunities in Bangladesh.
Overall, the visit resulted in highly productive discussions and strong alignment among all stakeholders, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) officially begins its journey in Bangladesh.
AHF Bangladesh Kick-Off Meeting was held on 27 January 2026 at BRAC Center, Mohakhali, Dhaka.
The event introduced AHF’s global mission and programmatic vision to national stakeholders.
Distinguished representatives from Ministry of Health (MoHFW), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), National AIDS/STD Control Program (NASC), UN organization, INGO, NGO, Media and Press, Community networks, Different hospital Directors, Civil society organization joined the dialogue.
AHF shared its initial focus on HIV prevention, testing, treatment, advocacy, and social support.
The meeting emphasized coordination, partnership, and alignment with Bangladesh’s national HIVresponse.
Valuable insights and feedback were exchanged to strengthen collaborative action.
This milestone follows AHF’s official registration with the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.
Together, we reaffirm our commitment to rights-based, client-centered HIV services.
AHF looks forward to working hand in hand to help end the HIV epidemic in Bangladesh.
