Sometimes a child is not โ€œmisbehaving.โ€
Sometimes they are overwhelmed. ๐Ÿ’ก

Teachers are often the first to notice when a child is struggling with regulation, communication, sensory challenges, or social interaction.

But many educators were never given enough practical autism support training.

That is why Evening Stars Barbados continues creating community support sessions focused on understanding, inclusion, and practical strategies that can help both children and educators thrive.

Our June 2nd session will explore:
โœ” Understanding autism spectrum support
โœ” Practical behavioural strategies
โœ” Resources for educators and families
โœ” Building more supportive environments

You are not failing as a parent. You are navigating something most people were never taught to understand. ๐Ÿ’™

Many parents of autistic and neurodiverse children are carrying silent stress, exhaustion, confusion, and fear while still showing up every single day for their children.

At Evening Stars Barbados, our goal is not judgment.
It is support, understanding, practical tools, and community.

Join us on June 2nd for our Autism & Family Support Session as we continue creating safe spaces for parents, caregivers, and educators in Barbados.

๐ŸŒฟ Conversations That Matter ๐Ÿ’›

This week, Evening Stars Barbados had the opportunity to engage with teachers during an autism awareness presentation with the Saint Bernardโ€™s PTA.

One thing became very clear through the discussions:
Teachers in mainstream classrooms are doing their best, but many need additional support and resources to effectively support neurodivergent students.

Topics such as:
๐Ÿงฉ Sensory regulation
๐Ÿงฉ Classroom overwhelm
๐Ÿงฉ Communication differences
๐Ÿงฉ Student support aides/shadows
๐Ÿงฉ Inclusive classroom strategies

continue to emerge as important areas of need.

We appreciate the educators who continue showing up with patience, care, and willingness to learn ๐ŸŒฟ

Creating inclusive spaces is not the responsibility of one person aloneโ€”it takes collaboration, awareness, and support.

๐Ÿ’› Evening Stars Barbados remains committed to supporting families, educators, and communities through education, advocacy, and practical support.
