Since 2006.
ŠTO TE NEMA je participativni spomenik posvećen sjećanju na genocid u Srebrenici kroz umjetnost. Between 2006 and 2020, ŠTO TE NEMA existed primarily as an ephemeral and temporary nomadic monument in response to the Srebrenica Genocide, presented in partnership with local communities and the Bosnian diaspora across USA and Europe. Envisioned as a participatory public art project by Bo
snian-American artist Aida Šehović, the monument was built with thousands of collected “fildžani” (small porcelain coffee cups without handles) assembled together at major city squares annually every July 11th. Volunteers, passersby, and the public were invited to fill the collected cups with Bosnian coffee made on site, and leave them on the ground, undrunk, in memory of the victims. Through ongoing efforts and a growing global network of supporters, the monument collected over 8,372 cups (one for each of the genocide victims) during its 15 years as a traveling monument. In 2020, the final iteration of ŠTO TE NEMA as a living monument took place at the Srebrenica Memorial Center. For Šehović, ŠTO TE NEMA’s arrival to Srebrenica also represented its return home and a fitting place to end the monument in its nomadic form. The permanent version of the ŠTO TE NEMA monument will be built at the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
