In our daily lives, we deal with many external factors that affect us. Additionally, we care about our appearance and how others see us. We often feel like we should meet other people's expectations.
These pressures can make us feel inauthentic and cause tension in our muscles and nervous systems. This can lead to pain, injuries, poor sleep, and feelings of inadequacy or being out of place in our lives.
When we practice the Method, however, we focus on our inner experience. By observing how we lie on the floor and perform simple movements, we gain a new perspective on ourselves and our movement.
Through slow, gentle movements, we begin to explore. We pay attention to various details, allowing our nervous system to create new solutions and use the brain's plasticity to learn and adapt at every stage of life.
Doing this for the first time might be frustrating. Everything you knew about doing something well or the "right" way is no longer important.
Initially, you may feel frustrated because you lose a frame of reference that you have relied on for a long time.
For some, trying and researching without fear of making a mistake is a big relief.
In our last workshop, "Learning to Learn — Učenje Učenja," we learned to trust our senses, even when we didn't perceive anything. The workshop focused on trusting our nervous system's ability to generate solutions for more efficient movement and reduced pain throughout life.
Some people had a hard time accepting that they felt lost during the process. However, everyone experienced changes within themselves.
Thank you Tanja Majer for organizing the workshop, and thank you Društveni salsa klub "Ritmo Del Puente" for letting us use your dance studio.
Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities!
