Last week’s Changeover Dinner was an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and recognise some very special people in our club.
We thanked Neil for his calm and committed leadership over the past year, which saw the club grow in numbers, increase its fundraising impact, and launch initiatives such as Sing & Sip and the Boogie Wonderland Bar. His steady presence has helped shape a strong foundation for what comes next.
We welcomed Christine as our incoming President, who spoke about her vision for the year ahead. With a focus on connection, contribution and community, Christine brings great energy to the role and an evident passion for growing our impact through new members, partnerships and projects.
We also celebrated Karen Paige, recipient of our club’s first Paul Harris Fellowship. Karen’s commitment to Rotary speaks for itself, from sausage sizzles and trivia nights to global efforts, such as the Umoja orphanage in Kenya. Her generosity, drive and sense of humour lift every corner of our club.
It was a pleasure to welcome Nigel Hutton MP, Mayor Adam Belot and Deputy Mayor Pat Eastwood as our guests for the evening. Thank you for supporting our club and the work we do in the Capricorn Coast community.
Here’s to another great year at the Rotary Club of Capricorn Coast.
