For more than 35 years, Rotary members around the world have been committed to one goal — ending polio for good.

Thanks to this global effort, cases have been reduced by 99.9%, with only a handful of countries where the virus still exists. Rotary continues to play a vital role in vaccination, advocacy, and education to keep communities polio-free.

Every donation, every campaign, and every conversation brings us closer to a world where no child will ever again suffer from polio.

That's a wrap! A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our Bunnings sausage sizzle today – your support makes a real difference. 🌭💛

We’d especially like to acknowledge one absolute legend of a young fella who, along with his family, donated nearly $100 to support our current work helping the homeless here in Yeppoon. We didn't catch your name, but thank you! It's moments like these that remind us what community spirit is all about. Thank you, Yeppoon!

At our recent Changeover Dinner, we were proud to award Karen Paige with the highest honour a Rotary club can bestow — the Paul Harris Fellowship.

This is a major recognition within the Rotary community, reserved for individuals whose service truly embodies the spirit of Rotary. Karen has given tirelessly to our club since its inception, from sausage sizzles and trivia nights to international projects like the Umoja orphanage in Kenya.

She’s a driving force behind our fundraising, a passionate advocate for those in need, and the heart behind many of our events. Her kindness, humour and dedication lift every part of what we do.

Congratulations, Karen — and thank you for your incredible service.

We’re delighted to welcome Christine Norris as President of Rotary Club of Capricorn Coast.

Christine brings with her a deep belief in the power of connection, contribution and community. As a former President in NSW and long-time Rotarian, she understands the value of shared purpose and fresh ideas. Her vision for the year ahead includes growing our impact, encouraging new generations to join, and embracing the strengths that each member brings to the table. With Christine’s energy, inclusive leadership and commitment to service, we’re looking forward to a meaningful and memorable year ahead.

What a moment. Our Vice President Neil and Nigel Hutton MP met up with the incredibly talented Maya Allsop this week by the beautiful Yeppoon Lagoon to show their support.

At just 15, Maya is already impressing the community with her determination and talent. She’s heading to Liverpool on a scholarship that combines school and football — an incredible opportunity to grow both on and off the field.

We’re proud to back Maya as she takes on this exciting chapter.

Last week’s Changeover Dinner was an opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and recognise some very special people in our club.

We thanked Neil for his calm and committed leadership over the past year, which saw the club grow in numbers, increase its fundraising impact, and launch initiatives such as Sing & Sip and the Boogie Wonderland Bar. His steady presence has helped shape a strong foundation for what comes next.

We welcomed Christine as our incoming President, who spoke about her vision for the year ahead. With a focus on connection, contribution and community, Christine brings great energy to the role and an evident passion for growing our impact through new members, partnerships and projects.

We also celebrated Karen Paige, recipient of our club’s first Paul Harris Fellowship. Karen’s commitment to Rotary speaks for itself, from sausage sizzles and trivia nights to global efforts, such as the Umoja orphanage in Kenya. Her generosity, drive and sense of humour lift every corner of our club.

It was a pleasure to welcome Nigel Hutton MP, Mayor Adam Belot and Deputy Mayor Pat Eastwood as our guests for the evening. Thank you for supporting our club and the work we do in the Capricorn Coast community.

Here’s to another great year at the Rotary Club of Capricorn Coast.

On and off the field, the Yeppoon Swans know how to show up! Big thanks to the team for jumping on the tongs and helping us serve a few hundred snags today. It was a massive day with support from all corners, families, kids, and even a few four-legged locals. We are so grateful for the backing from our community and proud to be part of it.
