GSDs (German Shepherd Dogs) in Need Australia Inc is Australia's largest German Shepherd Rescue and we are based in Brisbane. Due to our high success rate in rehabilitating German Shepherds from time to time we are asked to help with Dobermans and Rottweilers. Most people who follow our page want to adopt a German Shepherd so we have created this page in order to highlight our Rottweilers and Dobermans. GSDs in Need Australia Inc is a registered charity with the ACNC with DGO status.

DO YOU LOVE ROTTWEILERS? COULD YOU BE THE DEDICATED CARER WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Our Boy the Rotti is approximately 18 months old and needs a confident person to bring out the best in him. We have a Behaviouralist on the Sunshine Coast working with him so our carer would need to be able to continue these visits.
He is, like most dogs of this breed, a very loyal companion to his family and will follow them around all day long. He is crate trained and sleeps happily all night. During the day he is happy to amuse himself outside snoozing in the sun or playing with his toys.
Due to lack of early training, he is very protective of his treasures so this is something that needs ongoing work. To this end we cannot have a carer with children under 16.
He loves to meet new people and can be a little over enthusiastic. Let’s face it, not everyone loves big slobbery kisses from this big furball.
He is friendly to other dogs out on his walk but would be best suited to being an only dog or at least only a desexed female friend. Part of his training is overcoming his fear of the vet so that we can get him desexed.
As you can see, this boy is halfway to becoming a happy well trained dog, he just needs love and a firm hand to complete the process. If this sounds like you, please fill in the application form in the link below:

Recently, Dora has been having a tough time in care πŸ˜”

After being surrendered to us, this sweet girl has been trying her hardest to be the most brave girl she can be. But despite waiting so patiently, poor Dora has had no interest in adoption with not even one person applying to meet her πŸ’”

Due to past experiences, she can be a little timid around new people and wary of unfamiliar situations but with a little encouragement (and someone to hold her paw) she quickly understands that she is safe, loved and that no one means her any harm 😌

Dora has won the hearts of staff and volunteers alike and while we will always love and care as much as we can, nothing will replace the enduring warmth of a forever home.

As she nears her 100th day in care, we just know that if someone takes the time to meet her, they will love her as much as we do ❀️
