A huge thank you to the 18 hearty souls who assisted with our clean up this morning along a stretch of Ballan Road adjacent to the Manor Lakes Shopping Centre. It was cold and blustery and a little wet towards the end, but a great job was done by all. The majority of ‘goodies’ today comprised fast food containers, lolly wrappers and receipts from the various stores in the Manor Lakes complex together with four wooden posts an old till and a large water container.
Our next clean will be a joint activity with the other Love Our Streets and Beach Patrol groups in Wyndham and will be held on Sunday the 17th of May; further details will be posted closer to the day.
Once again a very big thanks to Shellianne, Jacquie, Eva, Jill, June, James, Alan, Harbans and the members of Club 60 Manor Lakes, and Alex and the members of the Ankar Narula Ministries, oh and me of course 😊
We hope to see you all again next month.

Good morning to you all. June and I hope that you had a great Easter break. As you know our April clean would have been on Easter Sunday, not the best idea, and so we now look forward to this coming Sunday (12th of April) when we'll be cleaning a stretch of Balla Road between Manor Lakes Boulevard and Hungry Jacks. When you have a close look (I walked it this morning) there's quite a bit to do and if we run out of rubbish we can always start on the other side of Ballan Road.
Start time is the usual 10.30am and I'll be parked in the car park adjacent to McDonalds and facing Ballan Road if there is space available. Just look for the white Nissan Navara or Love Our Streets 3024 sign. If you can't see either of those, look for the purple t-shirts or purple caps. If you still can't find us ring 0426 191 320.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Clean Up Australia Day and we at Love Our Streets 3024 did our little bit for the cause today by cleaning up the rubbish on one of our new housing estates. We picked up an estimated 250kgs of rubbish which included old chairs, timber, signage, steel pipes, a kiddies walker, dumped adult and babies nappies, stacks of cardboard, a full range of takeaway food and drink containers, builders rubble and just general day-to-day rubbish. The one good thing was that there were very few bottles and cans. Interesting to chat with a visitor from NSW while we were cleaning, he told us that builders were fined quite substantially up there when their sites were not litter managed effectively; good if it happened down here.
A huge thank you to Deb, Shellianne, Eva, Jill, Helen, June, Alex and the team from the Ankur Narula Ministry (and me of course 😊) for their great effort today. We may not have cleaned up a huge area, but we done good with our chosen area.

This coming Sunday (1st of March) is our usual first Sunday of the month litter clean and this year it also falls on ‘Cleanup Australia’ day. We’ve had a look around WyndhamVale and selected a site not too far from the Manor Lakes Shopping Centre. Our planned cleanup radiates from the junction of Wollahra Rise and Tathra Road and spreads about 200 metres in three directions. It’s a new site for us on a reasonably new estate, but by picking up some litter we may encourage some of the householders to come out and give us a hand and share a little bit of community spirit.
As usual, our clean starts at 10.30am and runs through till 12noon. If you have your own gloves please bring them along and if it’s a warm day we suggest that you bring some water along too.
As always just look for the white Nissan Navara, the Love our Streets sign, or the purple t-shirts; we’d love to have you join us for the hour or so. If you have any problems locating us just ring Colin on 0416 191 320.
We look forward to seeing you.

Good morning and a belated happy new year to you all.

This coming Sunday (1st February) is our first planned litter blitz for this year. My apologies for this notification being as late as it is, but June and I have been looking around for sites to clean and we have gone from the 'sublime to the ridiculous'. There are sites that have more rubbish than we could hope to clean up, even with a large team, whilst others that we have cleaned before are now being looked after by the contractors who cut the grass.
With that in mind, we have opted to clean the area opposite Aldi at the Wyndham Vale Shopping Centre in Greens Road. At the moment it is an absolute tip and very disappointing to see, particularly given that we email centre management each time we clean and attach photos of the disgusting state of the place.
June and I know that there may be some who are reluctant to participate at this site given the continued state of the place, but we just couldn't let this pass without at least an attempt to do something to improve it.
June and I will be in-site from about 10.15am and we'll park in one of the bays in front if Aldis. Just look for the white Navara or the Love Our Streets 3024 sign.
If you have any suggestions of alternative sites to clean please let us know, but keep in mind that we have to keep a group of volunteers busy for about 60-90 minutes; some of our former sites couldn't keep even a small team busy for that amount of time nowadays because of contractors good work.
June and I look forward to seeing you, if you're able to make it this Sunday, and a very big thank you for your continued support.
