Grannies Who Read I'm Ingrid and I am a former Teacher/Librarian and Librarian. I run free Storytime sessions for your Playgroup, Mother's Group or Preschool.

I am now retired to the beautiful Illawarra & I want to share my love of reading with children and their families. Hi I’m Ingrid and although I’m not yet a granny, I can’t wait to be one! I love to read especially to young children and to share wonderful books with them. For my working life I was a primary school teacher (mostly kindergarten), a teacher librarian and a children's librarian at a pu

blic library. I value promoting reading and providing a quality role model of reading to children. I value the benefit of singing, playing, reading and talking to very young children to develop their language skills and readiness for reading. I understand the importance of connecting children to books in a stress free and enjoyable way. I especially value the wonderful gift parents have at their disposal in reading to their children as it builds such a wonderful relationship with their child.

Last storytime for this year. This has been such a fun thing to do and I'm so proud of my little enterprise. I had an idea when I was planning retirement and here it is. Thanks to the wonderful preschools who welcomed me in and laughed at my antics. Thanks to the gorgeous kiddies who sang along, enjoyed the silly puppets and listened to the stories, who danced and made music and popped bubbles. See you next year!
