UOW Pulse - Your UniLife Gala 2023 UOW Chinese Academic Business Learning & Education - CABLE has received the Student Development Award and Club of the Year (Award of Distinction). Thanks 🙏 to all leaders who have contributed to the program, let’s continue to strive in 2024 to enrich UOW student life!

Annual General Meeting 2023 of UOW CABLE was held on 20 September at University of Wollongong campus for its 290+ members (dual delivery).

President’s Report, Secretary’s Report, Treasurer’s Report along with the financial statement were presented, and the financial statements were ratified by the members.

Cable fulfilled its 2022/23 commitments by delivering a slew of events & programs across the period.
Our unique & flagship students led academic support program proudly delivered 38 academic workshops directly benefiting 450+ students through our targeted delivery strategy with our eminent panel of Student Leaders, adding 39 new leaders to the panel this year.

Our 1-1 academic mentorship program to help distressed students achieve excellence has seen significant demand & matched delivery with 18 students directly benefiting from our efforts.

Networking events with alumni and industry has been another focus area in 2023, where we co-hosted events for our students with Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong CareerCentral and UOW Alumni Engagement Team . We believe our partnerships with our vast alumni will benefit our students in their career.

Team Cable ran up with another year of stellar performance at the UOW Pulse Ltd Sports Day, and UniClubs trivia competitions on campus. Also, Cable in partnership with the UOW Badminton team hosted the Championship. We now have a designated Sports Event & Technology consultant to guide us with more events.

We strongly believe in the wholistic development of a student by curating & delivering targeted high quality academic excellence & equip them with an arsenal of qualitative skills that would churn them into future leaders of tomorrow.

As our student society steps into our 15th year of legacy, we are ever more thrilled to take up more challenges, curate high quality student experiences, and bolster stronger relationship with our University of Wollongong, the alumni, industry and faculty at our great University. We invite all students to join in our year of celebration and strengthen our student community at our University.

At Cable UOW University of Wollongong , it’s the dawn of a milestone as we are gearing up into the 15th year of our legacy!

From our humble beginnings to an established student society with alumni spreading across the globe over the span of 15 years, we owe it to our Student Leaders and members. Leadership, Stability, Consistency, and Collaboration is what we preach and deliver.

Our training sessions, one-to-one leadership mentoring, academic support and social events help us to curate elevated student experiences.

The Executive Committee & Staff would like to welcome the next cohort of Student Leaders to a new year of challenges and fun!

The 2023 PropConnex NSW Real Estate Case Competition (PREComp) is sponsored by several industry leaders, including Blackstone, Brookfield, GPT, PWC, MA Financial, Wentworth, and Cliffbrook. The competition is only open to undergraduate students.

The PREComp consists of a Campus Heat stage to be held at UOW and a Finals Competition that will be held in Sydney. The University Campus Heats will take place on a day between 14th – 18th of August (exact details to be confirmed). There are cash prizes for the UOW Campus Heat with a total of $3,000 of prize money (1st place = $1,500, 2nd place = $1,000, 3rd place = $500).

The Finals Competition is split out into a 2-day event for the students:

• Day 1 – 7th September: Competition Day that includes heats in the morning, keynote speaker, finals in the afternoon, and networking drinks.

• Day 2 – 8th September: Sponsor Day where our industry Sponsors will host the participating students in their offices for a 45 min presentation on their respective businesses.

The winning team in the finals competition will receive an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to compete in the Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition that is held in November.
