New projects include a pressurized water supply and dormitory repair project for two schools in Babati and Regional Eastern Rwanda. All previous donations are going to be used on this trip for construction materials and local labour, any donations are appreciated on the below link! If you have the capacity to share this with your friends that would be great! TIA

MEET OUR TEAM

Hi guys!

My name is Pallavi Singh and I am the Assistant Manager for Engineering Tanzania. My role in the project is to manage the logistics of the whole endeavour, procurement of materials etc. I will be closely involved with the installations of the water harvesting system, solar panels and the electrical wiring etc.

I am in the 3rd year of my Bachelor of Engineering degree, majoring in electrical engineering. I have previously spent 6 months teaching vulnerable women and children in the villages of India. This has further inspired me to do something to improve the lives of people less fortunate than myself.

I was especially attracted to this project as I believe building educational institutions not only provides a safe place for children to study, it helps secure the country's future too. I am very excited to be going to Tanzania, with these group of people!!

MEET OUR TEAM

Hi, my name is Ashleigh Jordan and I am the Stakeholder and Communications Manager for our project. My role includes being a liaison between the team, stakeholders and other third parties involved in the construction of our outdoor learning space. Humanitarian Engineering is the last subject I will be undertaking before completing my double degree in International Relations and Communication and Media Studies. I was very honoured to be offered the opportunity to participate in the subject and use my non-engineering background to the test in this space. I am very passionate about working towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals starting with Goal 4 – Quality Education. I believe this is the most important goal because education is the fundamental key to bettering society, ending poverty and creating a more equal world. I am very excited to head to Tanzania and put my skills, knowledge and passion to use.

MEET OUR TEAM

Hi
My name is James Bowden and I am the project designer of the outdoor learning space team 1. In addition to my 18 years fabrication experience in the heavy construction industry, I am currently in my third year of studying a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in civil engineering.
I am passionate about improving the education infrastructure in developing countries. I applied to be in this program because it is an incredible opportunity to work in Tanzania and apply both my Engineering studies and trade experience that will have a lasting impact on the students of Manyara primary school.
I enjoy participating in competitive sports, traveling and outdoors with family and friend.

MEET OUR TEAM

Hi!
My name is Julia Millburn and I am the project manager of the outdoor learning space team 1. I am currently in my third year of studying a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in civil engineering. I am passionate about improving the access to education in developing countries, particularly the education of girls. I applied to be in this program because it is an incredible opportunity to give back to a less-fortunate community as well as gain valuable professional experience to bring to my future career.

In my free time I love to stay active, I play basketball, netball and have recently picked up AFL for something new to learn. I have 3 older brothers and have grown up to be resilient and determined, something I hope to bring to the ex*****on of this project. Travel is another thing I love and I am so excited to have the opportunity to travel to Tanzania.

The village where we will be constructing the outdoor learning space is located in the Manyara region, an hours drive from Babati, in the central north of Tanzania. The school we will be working with has got 450 students and is run by a NGO called 'So They Can' which has 36 schools in Tanzania and Kenya.

The community in this region is very young with more than 47% of the population of school age. This is why it is so important for education facilities in this region to be maintained and improved. Our outdoor learning center will increase the capacity of the school and improve the quality of education children receive.

HI GUYS,
We hope everyone is staying safe in this uncertain time. Disappointingly, our project may be postponed until November due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. However, this is great for our fundraising efforts.
More time means more money to build the best learning space possible!
If you can spare even $1, or share it with your friends we would be extremely grateful!
We are also on the look out for businesses who have a passion for helping people to sponsor our project in exchange for advertising on this page and your logo on our team shirts! More info about this to come!

If you have any other way you are willing to help or fundraising ideas, please don't hesitate to contact us.
