One of the highlights of this year’s AGM was the lucky door prize: a round of golf for four at Glenelg Golf Club.

After our first two apprentice winners were not in attendance to claim the prize, the draw eventually found its rightful winner on the third attempt.

The prize was presented by our outgoing President to Nathan Bennett, TMSA’s inaugural President and Course Superintendent at Royal Adelaide Golf Club, adding a touch of friendly Glenelg–Royal Adelaide rivalry to the occasion.

Congratulations, Nathan. We have no doubt the prize will be well enjoyed, even if there may be a little competitive banter when the group tees off. ⛳

Well, who would have thought that the winner of the Lucky Door Prize, a Rooftop Climb for Two at Adelaide Oval, kindly donated by Adelaide Oval SMA, would once again be a TMSA member from Adelaide Oval, just two years later!

Congratulations to Josh Doyle, standing front and centre in this photo amongst his colleagues.

Despite the inevitable conspiracy theories after the winning ticket was drawn by the ever-honest Peter Foreman, we can assure everyone that the process was completely legitimate! 😉

It was an early start at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday for our 4th Turf Seminar, with sponsors arriving from 6:00 am and guests from 7:15 am as final preparations came together. By 8:00 am the programme was underway, welcoming more than 220 attendees — an outstanding turnout.

The day delivered a strong mix of practical insight, innovation and industry discussion, with presentations covering course enhancement, emerging turf technologies, sustainable pumping, sportsfield usage, soil health and irrigation management. Attendees also enjoyed a behind‑the‑scenes look at Adelaide Oval’s drop‑in pitch work for the ICC T20 World Cup, followed by an industry outlook on the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Despite a full programme of eight sessions and an AGM, there was still plenty of opportunity to connect with sponsors, both upstairs at the trade stands and downstairs among the machinery displays. A sincere thank you to all sponsors for their time, investment and commitment in supporting the seminar.

We also thank everyone who attended and supported this year’s event. It was fantastic to see new members joining us, and we were especially pleased to have Life Members Gerry Charlton and John Hawkins with us throughout the day.

The seminar wrapped up with a relaxed networking session downstairs, giving guests the chance to catch up and enjoy the magnificent machinery on display. Despite the weather delivering four seasons in one day, the warmer conditions held out long enough to finish the day on a great note.

Attendees and sponsors have been sent a survey link to share feedback, helping us continue to refine and improve our events. Committee elections were held during the AGM, and we will share an update once Office Bearers are elected at the next Committee meeting.

Thank you to all attendees for contributing to such a fantastic seminar and helping make the day a real success.

It was an early start at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday for our 4th Turf Seminar, with sponsors arriving from 6:00 am and guests from 7:15 am as we put the final preparations in place. By 8:00 am, the programme was underway, welcoming more than 220 attendees — an outstanding turnout.

Our Turf Seminar was more than a great day of learning and networking. It also delivered fantastic content, thanks to TMSA Committee Member and Royal Adelaide Golf Club Course Foreman, Dave Meadows.

Dave spent the day capturing footage from the event, and with nearly 1,000 views already, it's safe to say his efforts have resonated with our audience.
