I am the face of an addict. I won't sugar coat it. I drugged to the point of no return & ended up doing crime to feed my daily habit but I'm not ashamed of my past - it made me the fierce strong resilient woman I am today.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am an open book. If that offends some people, then that's okay, it's not their story to own, but I'm owning mine and its helped me survive. I love who I am ,and who I am trying to be today.
Addiction does not discriminate.
I will forever be an addict battling for the rest of my life.
We HAVE to stop pretending that addiction is something to be ashamed of. We HAVE to talk about it. Addiction destroys addicts and their families. But when we silence the problem and pretend like everything is okay when it isn't, the fire grows, and disintegrates everything in it's path.
People are dying. We have to talk about it and share our stories. As it becomes a message that saves lives Thank God x
I choose not to be anonymous but prioritize that of those I help.
