A wrap up of the State Conference. Day 3 we had reports from the Agricultural and Environmental Officer, International Officer and Social Issues Officer. Other speakers were RFDS, RAMHP and NBNCo. We also moved some motions.
Day 4 awards were announced for Agricultural and Environmental, Cultural, Land Cookery, Handicraft and we finished the motions. Of the 50 plus motions for the conference, 43 were passed, 6 were lost and 1 was withdrawn.
My first conference was a great experience and as I learnt and will quote one of the speakers, "CWA is far more than scones." Hopefully I will get the opportunity to attend th 2027 conference in Canberra.

Day 2 of Conference and some more very informative speakers, from Safework NSW, EnergyCo, Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) and Dr Nicholas Zdenkowski, Breast Cancer Trail.
Of the 13 motions we discussed, 12 were carried and one was laid on the table for further discussion.
I also looked at the exhibits for Handicraft, Land Cookery, Agricultural and Environmental, Recycled Art, International and many more. I hope you enjoy the snapshot of some of the exhibits.

Day one of the 104th CWA of NSW State Conference in Forster has been an experience. We were welcomed with bagpipes leading the President, Tanya Jolly and official guests to the stage. We listened to the Company of Voices Choir who started with a song written by Henry the Eighth in the 1500s, and had us all singing with them to โ€œMoon Riverโ€.
Richard Colbran, CEO of Rural Doctors Network, spoke about the 30 year partnership with RND and the CWA of NSW.
Olympic gold Medallist, Beach volleyball Sydney 2000, Kerri Pottharst, spoke about achieving success in both her personal and sporting life. She passed her gold and bronze medals into the audience, unfortunately we were not lucky enough to see them.
After lunch we managed to work through 10 motions before a fire alarm cut our day short.
Of the 10 motions discussed 8 were carried, 1 was lost and 1 was withdrawn.
