🌱💚 Seed Planting Day at Waroona Playgroup 💚🌱

On Monday, members of Drakesbrook Community Garden joined us at Waroona Playgroup to help our children plant seeds in preparation for our new veggie gardens, made possible through the Alcoa Waroona Micro Grant.

The children had a wonderful time learning about planting seeds and were excited to create their own take-home seed cups to care for and watch grow at home. 🌱

We also enjoyed a lovely morning tea together, complete with freshly homemade pumpkin scones, followed by a fun dance party that had everyone smiling and joining in. 🎶🧁

The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by children and adults alike. It was a fantastic opportunity for our families to learn, connect and grow together.

A huge thank you to all the members of Drakesbrook Community Garden for generously giving their time, knowledge and assistance. Your support helped create a memorable experience for our children, and we are so grateful for your involvement.

We can’t wait to watch our seeds grow and continue developing our veggie gardens over the coming months! 🌱🌈

🎨 Wear Your Favourite Colour Day
A fun day to celebrate colour. Wear your favourite colour and join in the fun!

🧚‍♀️🧙 Come Dressed as a Fairy or Wizard Day
Bring a little magic to playgroup by dressing up as a fairy or wizard.

There’s no need to buy anything special. Favourite outfits, homemade costumes, and simple dress-ups are perfect.

🌈 This Week at Waroona Playgroup 🌈

This week we enjoyed some free play before heading to the library for a visit. 📚

The children listened to a story, completed some colouring activities, explored a range of books, and spent time playing with the toys available. To finish the morning, some of the children joined in a fun dance party. 💃🕺

It was a lovely opportunity to get out and about in our community and spend time together with friends. 💛

A big thank you to the library staff for welcoming us and having us visit. We appreciate the time and effort that goes into providing these opportunities for local families. 📚😊

🦔🦕 This week at Waroona Playgroup, we had so much fun exploring two exciting themes!

For Native Animal Day, the children got creative making adorable echidnas out of playdough and colouring sticks, enjoyed painting with stencils, coloured in native animal pages and explored two sensory tables featuring our new native animal figurines and real clay. We also had a lovely visit from Nikki at Parenting Connections, and the children loved listening to her read a story. It was wonderful seeing everyone learning through hands-on play and creativity. 🎨🦘📚

We also celebrated International Dinosaur Day! The children loved finding our new dinosaurs hiding in the grass as they walked through the gate, freeing dinosaurs trapped in ice, making dinosaur prints in playdough, colouring in our dinosaur wall and stomping on bubbles. There were lots of big smiles and roaring fun all morning long! 🦖❄️🫧

From messy hands to big imaginations, this week was full of creativity, discovery and play. We can’t wait to see what adventures next week brings! 💛

Please note that we won’t be open on Monday due to the Western Australia Day public holiday, but we look forward to seeing everyone next Wednesday, 3rd June! 😊
