We’ll be taking on the continuous Ski Erg challenge pushing through every pull to raise awareness and funds for Polished Man, an initiative working to end violence against women and children.

Last round Wangaratta City Soccer Club players wore red arm bands in protest of recent budget cuts and stood in solidarity with and ♥️

The Victorian Government has defunded the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation - including the Change Our Game initiative - and cut violence prevention programs in sport.
These initiatives and programs were among the first of their kind - designed to make sport safe, more inclusive, and more equal for women and gender diverse people. Without them, we risk going backwards - towards more harm, more silence, and fewer women and gender diverse people in the game.
This is happening during a national crisis of gender-based violence.

We refuse to go backwards.
We refuse to be silenced.
We refuse to stay quiet while safety is defunded.

Today is LGBTQIA+ Family Violence Awareness Day a day to she’d a light on the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ people impacted by family and gender-based violence.

We know that LGBTQIA+ communities face higher rates of violence and often encounter additional barriers when seeking support. Discrimination, fear of not being believed, and lack of inclusive services can all make it harder to find safety.

At Firey Lou, we stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people today and every day. We are committed to creating a future where everyone- regardless of sexuality, gender identity or expression feels safe, valued and supported.

You are seen. You are valid. You are not alone. 💖🏳️‍🌈
