Meet the Cailleach This Winter Warming
As many of the early white settlers in the WHYLD area had strong Celtic roots —Irish, Scottish, Cornish, Welsh and French— our Winter Warming celebration draws on several Celtic traditions, including the lighting of bonfires and lanterns to brighten the longest night of the year.
In 2024, the ancient winter spirit, The Cailleach, led the Winter Warming lantern parade for the very first time, bringing a touch of Celtic folklore to the celebration.
This year, she'll return once more to guide us through the darkness and welcome the turning of the season.
🔥 Join us on Sunday 21 June (4-7pm) to celebrate the longest night of the year.
🏮 Walk in the lantern parade.
❄️ Meet the Cailleach and embrace the magic of winter.
Gather around the fire, share in the warmth of community, and help us light up the night.
