These photos display the rich culture of Wadeye the ceremony, song and dance lines, and the body paint that carries meaning for each different dance group.

Our culture is what separates us from the rest of the world, and at the same time, it is what unites us as people of the land and the region.

Our old people dug, shaped and built the foundations of everything we hold dear today. Their greatest gift to us is what they left behind for the Darri-Kardu (families).

In the photo with the body paintJoelnartis Dunguy who lived down creek camp.

We pay homage to our old people and give thanks for the path they left behind for us.
Their culture, their stories, their songs, their dances and their knowledge continue through the generations.

Thank you to our old people for everything you left behind for us
