Community knowledge, stewardship and partnership are essential to the strategy and sustaining living waterways.
Traditional Owners have managed waterways and Country for countless generations and continue to hold valuable ecological knowledge and practices to care for waterways.

🌱 W**d Wednesday: What Are Your W**ds Trying to Tell You?

We know, we know… w**ds can be an absolute pain.

But here’s the twist — they’re also great little messengers about what’s happening in your soil.

Take soil compaction, for example.

When the ground gets hard, tight, or heavily trafficked (hello gateways, stock camps and tractor lines), certain w**ds move in because they love those conditions.

Common w**ds that indicate soil compaction:
-Capew**d
-Onion w**d
-Dock

If you’re seeing these pop up in clusters, your soil might be telling you it needs:

- better aeration
- reduced traffic
- more groundcover

W**ds aren’t just troublemakers — they’re clues.
And once you know what they’re pointing to, you can work to fix the root cause (pun intended).
