Golden Rose Cancer Collective

Golden Rose Cancer Collective Hi my name is Faye and I am a hypnotherapist and a performance coach. I am also the founder of Golden Roses Cancer Collective.

OUR MISSION

To make complementary therapies available to all people fighting cancer who have the desire but not the financial means to include these modalities in their healing journey. Like so many, my life has been shattered from losing people I love to cancer, including my Mom and most recently my best friend. When my best friend was fighting this awful disease, complementary therapies were a

n integral part of supporting that fight. However before she had cancer she had no idea about eating for health, kinesiology, meditation, energy healing to name but a few of the healing modalities out there. One day she said to me "How can I be almost 50 and not know about any of this?"

I wondered about how many others facing their own cancer battle might benefit from this knowledge but also how many of these people would be able to afford them. My friend had great insurance cover, I knew not everyone was so lucky. From this, the idea for Golden Rose Cancer Collective was born. A collective of practitioners who want to give back and Cancer Warriors who would like the opportunity to include complementary therapies in their healing journey. Our vision is to grow a network of Golden Rose affiliates who share our mission across Australia. To offer education, connection and support. If this speaks to you and you would like to support us, donate time or volunteer please contact us either through fb or our website.

My fellow Australians,

I pen this letter as a final goodbye to all those I have had the immense privilege of loving, sharing life’s adventures with, working alongside and meeting during what can only be described as a life filled with happiness, optimism, opportunity and passion.

My intention is for this letter to be published upon my passing - as my final farewell.

I cannot thank my beautiful wife Katie and my adored children Emily, Matthew and Lucy enough for their love, their support, their strength, and their compassion. They are shining examples of the best of humanity and make me extremely proud.

To my research and clinical colleagues, I implore you to stay inquisitive and brave and keep striving to break new ground.

To all cancer patients, I encourage you to consider enrolling in research and clinical trials, if on offer.

And to government and the wider community, please keep funding science and medical research. This is the most impactful way that you too can make a difference.

Perhaps the greatest lesson to come from these last three years is that cancer does not define us. It may be the current road we are travelling, but it is not our entire journey.

A terminal cancer diagnosis does however provide clarity as to what truly matters. It shines a spotlight on the importance of relationships, on true friendship and on selflessness.

If my legacy was to continue beyond these words, I would be delighted and humbled to be remembered as a proud everyday Aussie who “gave it a crack”, and in doing so, inspired others to pursue their dreams and passions with humility, love and compassion.

With much love and gratitude,
Richard

Some days you can move mountains. Other days, simply getting to the next hour is the victory.
Just because you cannot do something today does not mean you won't be able to tomorrow. And just because you have the energy for it today does not mean you have to force it every single day after.
There is no "right" way to heal. Both the days you feel capable and the days you need to rest are part of the process. At The Golden Rose Cancer Collective, we meet you exactly where you are.

We’re pleased to welcome Icon Cancer Centre - Australia as our campaign partner for Rare Cancers Awareness Day again this year.

It marks the third year that Icon has supported Rare Cancers Awareness Day, helping take our awareness message further and connect patients with the right care and support.

"Together, we’re helping to close the gap for people living with rare and less common cancers by making it easier to access the vital support they need, when they need it,” said Paul Fenton, CEO of Icon Cancer Centre.

Someone in Australia is diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer every 12 minutes. Chances are, someone you know is affected.

That’s why it’s so important to raise awareness, show support, and let people diagnosed with rare cancers know they are not alone.

Thank you to Icon for working with us to show their support for rare.

Support is not about finding the right words. It is about emotional steadiness.
Many people living with cancer spend their energy performing happiness to protect others from the reality of their diagnosis. This creates an exhausting second job of managing the discomfort of wider society.
At The Golden Rose Cancer Collective, we provide a space where you do not have to manage anyone else. Here, the mask can drop and you can finally exhale.

For the most common type of , pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, more than 90% of tumors are thought to have a KRAS mutation. For decades, these mutations were considered “undruggable,” meaning there was no effective way to target them with treatments. But groundbreaking research has changed that with remarkable results — a new RAS inhibitor approximately doubled overall survival compared with chemotherapy in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Join PanCAN to discuss the current moment in KRAS research — and what the newest discoveries may mean for patients now and in the future. During our free virtual event, you'll learn more about:

🧬 What KRAS is and why it's critical for patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer to know if their tumor has a KRAS mutation
🔬 The latest research related to KRAS and beyond, including clinical trials happening now that stand to change the treatment landscape
🧪 The important role patients play in advocating for biomarker testing, clinical trials and new treatment options for KRAS-driven cancers
đź’ś How PanCAN Patient Services can help patients get biomarker testing to identify KRAS and other mutations as well as navigate treatment options, including clinical trials
