At Shalom, we work to keep you connected and active in our community, no matter what your taste. From social to cultural, and even educational events, Shalom has you covered. We also offer young adult volunteers, groups and organisations, with support, skills and advice. We embrace and pioneer in all we do and endeavour to be inclusive and engaging across all community activities and programs. Welcome to the Festival of the Spoken Word, presented by the Sydney Jewish Writers Festival — where Jewish stories come alive through theatre, music, poetry, comedy and conversation. Across English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Arabic, artists explore the richness and complexities of contemporary Jewish life.

Experience Holding Light with our community on the final evening of the exhibition. 🕯️✨

Letters to Bondi brings together seven remarkable Jewish writers to share personal letters reflecting on the events of 14 December. An intimate evening of collective witnessing, mourning, questioning, and moral reckoning through the written word.

Many of these writers have graced the stage of the Sydney Jewish Writers Festival, and on 28 June, they come together once more for something truly special.

Recognising excellence across six categories, these awards celebrate the voices shaping contemporary Australian Jewish literature. From emerging young writers to established authors, playwrights and poets, there is a category for every story worth telling.
