Across March and April, Young Carers SA continued creating opportunities for young carers to learn, connect, build confidence and feel supported.

✨ 10 young carers engaged in our STEM program hosted by Inventor Kids
✨ We delivered our first Financial Literacy Workshop, supporting young carers to build important life skills
✨ Our first YAC YAC-led event was hosted by the Young Carer Advisory Crew, with 18 young carers in attendance
✨ 2 young carers completed personalised Thrive Physio programs, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing

We also received this beautiful feedback from a family involved in the Thrive Program:

“We’ve seen a huge improvement with [name]’s physical and mental health from the Thrive Program. We hope this program continues.”

Every program, workshop and event is designed to help young carers feel seen, supported and empowered.

What a way to spend the school holidays

Over Youth Week, we were lucky enough to host two incredible events for Young Carers - the YacYac Holiday Hang Out and a hands on STEM Program with Inventor Kids.

From relaxing and connecting with other Young Carers, to coding, experiments, robots and discovering how things work, every event was filled with laughter, curiosity and fun.

Seeing a full room of Young Carers taking time out for themselves, building real friendships and simply enjoying being kids was something really special

Our STEM event hosted by Kids was packed with curious minds, hands on experiments and nonstop energy. From robots and coding to extracting their own strawberry DNA, every young carer jumped in, explored and had a blast.

Our first YAC YAC Holiday Hang Out brought young carers together to laugh, connect, and choose activities that reflected who they are.

We know that holidays can feel different when you’re a young carer. While others are switching off, you’re still showing up with strength, care and resilience every single day.
