Swan Hill Sustainability Group invite you to participate in a workshop for their Milloo Healing Country project, with artist Sandra Kropinyeri
When: Saturday May 16th,
1.00pm to 3.30pm
Where: The Art Gallery of Swan Hill.
The North Central CMA's Nature-led Community Recovery Program aims to support both the recovery of our region’s waterway biodiversity and communities recovering from the Victorian 2023-2024 storms and flooding.
Our project for 2026 is to create two storylines, one a mural for the Milloo St Wetlands and the other using the canvas of the Art Gallery Ping Pong table.
Come along to the workshop to create your own storyline of the themes, using mixed media.
The Milloo Healing Country project will enhance our beautiful river precinct, exploring the animals, birds and plants of the river and wetlands, the response to over-bank events (flooding), and the way people deal with and recover after flood events.
During our Urban Riverfront Enhancement project in 2025, several people suggested a mural be done at the wetlands. We estimate that 20,000 people walk past there each year, including many tourists. Let’s proudly tell our story through art, showing the rich culture, biodiversity, our resilience and connection to the natural landscape around us.
Please RSVP to secure your spot and for catering purposes to: [email protected]
