Join us at EQUALIZE, a free one-day workshop for women and gender diverse music makers 💫

Spend the day writing, collaborating and recording with fellow creators while exploring songwriting and production techniques in a supportive, hands-on environment with Hatchie and Bess Egerton (she/her), aka Hag.

EQUALIZE is heading to cities across Australia, with each workshop tailored to its local community and led by a different lineup of mentors.

What an incredible moment for Yung Milla!

The Darwin-based Marranunggu artist has taken home the win on The Voice Australia, captivating audiences across the country and being broadcast into the homes of millions of Australians.

Proudly sharing to his socials, he said: “I feel so honoured to be representing my people and my community on The Voice. To have everyone come together and share this moment with me is something I'll never forget.”

Yung Milla brought his story, culture and community to the national stage, from a four-chair turn in his Blind Audition performing his brother J-MILLA's "All My Life", through to a powerful reworking of "Down Under" in the Semi Final.

Before The Voice, he was already building a strong following independently, with his music gaining attention through triple j Unearthed. He's also worked as a mentor supporting young Aboriginal men in the Northern Territory.

Congratulations, Yung Milla. We're thrilled to celebrate this one with you 💛

It wasn’t just Kylie bringing the magic… ✨➡️

The stage was packed with an iconic crew, with G FLIP joining Kylie Minogue for a little Padam Padam moment

William Barton bringing his brilliance to the performance 💫

Returning home to Melbourne, the queen reigned over the country’s biggest game, with millions watching at home as she brought five decades of hits, a dream medley and all the glimmering energy to the AFL Grand Final! 🔥

We also spotted a few members showing up to celebrate the moment! ➡️

A special shoutout to Michael Paynter for his performance of the Australian National Anthem, and some love for Uncle Colin Hunter Jnr, who delivered the Welcome to Country and helped kick off one of the country’s biggest events.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of singer, songwriter, actor and youth advocate Gary “Angry” Anderson AM.

One of the most distinctive figures in Australian rock, Anderson spent more than 50 years at the forefront of the local music industry.

Best known as the frontman of Rose Tattoo, he helped define Australian hard rock through anthems including “Bad Boy for Love”, “Nice Boys” and “We Can’t Be Beaten”.

Anderson also enjoyed success as a solo artist, with “Suddenly” becoming an international hit in 1987, and appeared in film and television, including Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. In 1992, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to young people and the community.

Dean Ormston, CEO of APRA AMCOS, said: “Angry Anderson leaves behind an extraordinary musical legacy. He helped define a chapter of Australian music and inspired generations of performers and fans. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the many people whose lives were touched by his music.”

There’s more time to apply for the 2027 APRA Professional Development Awards in the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander PDA General and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander PDA Senior categories.

The deadline has been extended to:

🗓️ 5pm AEST, Friday 9 October 2026

Each award provides $10,000 to support professional development for songwriters and composers, including opportunities such as workshops, music education, co-writing and other career development activities.

APRA AMCOS has welcomed the passage of the Music Bill 2026 through NSW Parliament yesterday.

The Bill puts support for contemporary music into state law, introducing a new accreditation scheme for live music venues, mandatory mediation for venue disputes, fairer sound rules for outdoor events, and an end to government decisions made on the basis of music genre.

"This Bill is the third major stage in rebuilding music in NSW," says Dean Ormston, CEO of APRA AMCOS.

"The Government has invested $103 million in contemporary music since the last election and Sound NSW has given music a proper home in government. This legislation now sets clear rules for every state agency and council that makes decisions about music, from venue licensing to event approvals."

We thank the NSW Parliament for passing these laws and acknowledge the tireless work of Minister John Graham and the team at Sound NSW, who have driven this reform!
