Blue Cross Animals Society of Victoria is a Pro Life Animal Shelter. We rehome cats, dogs, kittens and puppies whose futures would be bleak without our care.

We are a shelter with a vision of a future where all animals are safe, respected, loved and protected. We’ve been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1966. Abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured – we do what’s needed to give every pet a healthy life in a happy home. We’re a charity, so the more help you give us, the more help we can give pets. We care for hundreds of animals every year. Euthanasia for economic reason we totally oppose; the only reason an animal will be euthanised is in cases of aggressive temperament (with no hope for rehabilitation), the animal is a danger to itself, or the animal is extremely unwell or in extreme discomfort

🐾 ADOPTION TAIL – TAZ 💙

We received a lovely update from Taz’s new family, and it sounds like he has settled in beautifully! 🏡

His new mum says Taz is smart, well behaved and confidently exploring his new home. He’s already made himself part of the family and is enjoying plenty of love, playtime and, of course, his new cat towers! 🐱

The best part? “We all love him as our new cute family member.” 🥰

Meet Ares 🐾
Ares is a sweet 2-year-old boy looking for a calm and understanding home where he can take life at his own pace.

Ares can be quite shy when he first meets new people and will need some time to feel safe and comfortable. But once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover a wonderfully affectionate boy hiding underneath that cautious exterior.

When Ares is comfortable, he loves affection and will happily show you just how content he is with plenty of purrs, head boops and even a little happy dribble! He really is a beautiful, loving boy once he knows he’s safe.

Moving into a new home will be a big adjustment for Ares, so he is looking for someone patient and understanding who won’t expect too much from him too quickly. Giving him the space and time he needs to settle will be the key to helping him become the affectionate companion we know he can be.

🐾 ADOPTION TAIL – ELTON (now Armand!) 🧡

We received a lovely update from Elton’s new family, who have renamed him Armand. 🥰

After being a little shy at first, Armand is settling in beautifully and his family is learning all his little quirks — including when he needs some quiet time and when he’s ready for affection… on his terms, of course! 😂

He’s also slowly getting to know his doggy sister Azora, who is very keen to become his new best friend. 🐶🐱

His family says simply, “We love him!” ❤️

Meet Bellatrix 🐾
Bellatrix is a beautiful 1.5-year-old lady with plenty of personality and just the right amount of spice!

She’s looking for a special kind of person — someone who understands that affection happens on Bellatrix’s terms, not necessarily when the humans decide it’s cuddle time. When she’s feeling comfortable and chooses to seek you out, she can be an affectionate girl.

Bellatrix can be quite chatty and loves getting involved in a good game with her wand toys. Food and tasty treats are also high on her list of favorite things and will be a great way to help build a positive relationship with her.

She will need plenty of time and patience to adjust to life in a new home. A quiet, predictable environment with someone who is happy to let her settle at her own pace will give Bellatrix the best opportunity to feel safe and build trust.

Bellatrix is also fearful of carriers, so she would benefit from some gentle, positive relationship training to help her become more comfortable with them over time.
