Tamworth Evening CWA The CWA is the largest women's organisation in Australia and aims to improve conditions for country women and children. We reach that aim in various ways.

The CWA are a group of women involved in lobbying for change, helping the local community and creating an inclusive social network. The Tamworth Evening Branch is keen to provide the opportunity for women who are unable to access the traditional day time meetings to be involved in this wonderful organisation. We meet at the a Tamworth Hotel on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Meetings are open to anyone who is interested and new members are welcome.

A message from our friends at BreastScreen NSW…

We know it’s cold outside but it's warm at BreastScreen NSW.

For women over 40, a breast screen can find breast cancer early before it can be seen or felt and when treatment is most successful.

Book your free breast screening appointment at the Tamworth clinic before the end of Winter by calling 13 20 50 or online at www.breastscreen.nsw.gov.au.

Another year of Hospital Dignity Bag packing officially COMPLETE! 🎉

We are proud to share that our fourth year doing this was our biggest and best effort yet!

Tamworth Evening CWA branch members packed more than 200 bags containing donations from the broader Tamworth community. These will be distributed to people at Tamworth Base Hospital who don't have any basic hygiene and toiletry supplies with them, to make their stay a little bit more comfortable.

We've already had heartwarming feedback that these bags have been well-received 🤗

A big thank you to:
Kylie Reading for hosting at her lovely home
Cathi Maher for allowing us to use her business Tamworth Fencing, as our donation drop-off point

A big CONGRATULATIONS to our Cookery Queens! 👏👏

The state final at the Conference in May was a celebration of The Land Cookery Committee’s 75th anniversary.

Two of our Tamworth Evening branch members took home places amongst fierce competition from talented cooks from across the state.

Well done to:
🥳 Jane Paton for 1st place in Tomato Jam
🥳 Maree Bonanno for 3rd place in Microwave Strawberry Jam
We are so proud of you ladies!

Thank you to everyone who supports this competition, including the entrants, Cookery Officers, judges, stewards, and more.

📢 LAST CHANCE TO DONATE 📌

The countdown is on...our Hospital Bag Packing Day is next weekend!

This means you only have one week left to drop off any remaining toiletry donations.

If you have been meaning to drop off any toiletries, please leave them with the team at Tamworth Fencing by next Friday, 19th June.

It looks like we will be able to put together at least 100 hygiene bags for patients at Tamworth Base Hospital, a big increase on our 2025 efforts.

The one item we are low on is deodorants. If you have spare, unopened deodorants, or are willing to pick up an extra one or two in your weekly shop, we would be so appreciative.

🔔 ANOTHER WAY TO DONATE 📚
Another way to make a difference is by donating to the hospital Book Library.

We are also welcoming donations of books for all ages, which we will compile and give to the hospital along with the hygiene bags.

These can be a lovely distraction for people who are receiving treatment. If you have spare novels you've already read, or kids' titles that they've grown out of, all will be gratefully accepted!

Thank you, Tamworth community, for your support ❤️
