Avon Recovery Centre - Grevillea Park At Grevillea Park, our commitment is to your well-being and recovery. We are dedicated to helping individuals facing depression, anxiety and stress.

Grief is normal and natural, and stems from one of many losses from death, divorce, loss of health, to the pain of pet loss, financial and health issues and even moving. Whilst grief is normal and natural, most of the so-called help passed on within our society is not normal, natural or even helpful. The old saying of “Time heals all wounds” just does not work and invariably the grieving is compou

nded further. The aim of the program is to empower individuals to achieve a level of calm so that they can then learn to deal with their problems, despite their difficulties with mental illness. The bush setting for Grevillea Park will provide a tranquil environment away from the pressures and distractions of urban lifestyle. During their stay, participants and their wives and partners will have the opportunity to engage in an inclusive program of psychological, medical, spiritual and nature based therapies. Participation in these programs enables the development of the healing process.

Avon Recovery Centre Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation based in Midland which is currently planning and coordinating a new ground-breaking accommodation-based mental health recovery centre, set amongst beautiful bushland in Sawyer's Valley, known as 'Grevillea Park'.

Our recovery centre seeks to assist with mental distress experienced by West Australian's suffering from grief, depression, and/or anxiety-related issues. As an accommodation-based centre, our participants will also benefit from extensive aftercare services to provide long-term support. Our centre will offer a *combination* of traditional therapies and evidence-based complementary therapies (including equine, art, music, nutritional & horticultural therapy).

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking to engage with an experienced researcher who will be reporting directly to the Project Coordinator.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- assisting with clinical research tasks
- collation and summarising of existing research materials into reports
- assisting the Project Coordinator with general/adhoc clinical-related tasks

This is a flexible role with remote working options available for the right candidate.

ABOUT YOU
- A willingness to volunteer between 1-2 days per week
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment (prior NFP sector work will be viewed favourably).
- The ability to work within time restraints and meet deadlines
- A willingness to learn new skills
- Positive attitude
- Attention to detail
- General interest in the job role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work autonomously and unsupervised*

At this current stage, our recovery centre (named “Grevillea Park”) in the hills East of Perth, is aiming to be operating by mid 2022. We require a Project Coordinator on a volunteer basis for1 to 2 days a week and your duties will include meeting with key consultants on a monthly basis, attending meetings with local and State government agencies, assisting with our Time Line , working with quantity surveyor people

ABOUT THE ROLE – We are currently seeking to engage with a clinical researcher to assist with collation of research, especially related to FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), who will be reporting directly to the Project Coordinator.
