Today, on the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the victims of October 7 must be recognised.
Hamas’s October 7 attack was the deadliest terrorist attack per capita recorded worldwide since 1970.
1,182 people were killed. More than 4,000 were wounded. 251 were taken hostage.
But the victims cannot be measured by numbers alone. Thousands more were assaulted, bereaved, displaced and traumatised. Families were torn apart, communities were devastated and survivors continue to carry wounds that may never fully heal.
Their suffering must never be minimised, politicised or excluded from the world’s remembrance.
Remember them.
Honour them.
Stand against the terror that shattered their lives.
