This Sunday we’ll be at the Casino Cobras FC Gala Day with one mission… finding the sharpest shooter around 👀⚽

We’ve got our giant inflatable Goal Target Challenge, so whether you’re playing, cheering from the sidelines, helping out or just looking for something fun to do, come say hi to the Roo’s team and test your accuracy!

And whilst you’re with us, why not grab a photo with the World Cup trophy too? 🏆📸

Think you’ve got what it takes to hit the targets and top the leaderboard? Who’s walking away with the highest score of the day? 💯

Last week we tried something completely different at one of our after-school sessions.

Instead of us being the coaches, we handed that responsibility over to the children.

In small groups, they had to design their own activity, set it up, explain it to everyone else and then oversee it while the group took part.

The response was incredible.
⚽️ Did some personalities clash? Of course.
⚽️ Did everything go perfectly? Not at all.

But watching the children work together, listen to different ideas, solve problems and support one another was something really special.

Did they learn many soccer skills that day? Probably not.

But they learnt something even more valuable:

✅ Teamwork
✅ Respect
✅ Communication
✅ Leadership
✅ Cooperation

And perhaps most importantly, they learnt just how frustrating it can be when people don’t listen to the coach! 🤣

Soccer is the vehicle at our sessions, but the real goal has always been helping children build confidence, life skills and positive relationships.

Looking at these session plans, we’d say the future is in good hands. 💜⚽

⚽️ SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ARE HERE! ⚽️

Looking for something fun, active and welcoming these holidays?

Our award-winning Rainbow Roos holiday programs are back across the Northern Rivers, with something for every child, every ability and every experience level.

Whether your child is kicking a ball for the very first time or already loves the game, our sessions are built around fun, confidence, inclusion and development. No pressure. No trials. No experience needed. Just smiles, friendships and plenty of football.

🌎 With World Cup fever sweeping the globe, we’ll be bringing the excitement to our holiday programs with:

⚽ Skills and challenges
🏆 World Cup themed games
🎯 Fun competitions
🤝 Team activities
🏰 Inflatable fun
🌟 Plenty of opportunities to learn, play and make new friends

From community events and festivals to specialist workshops and public programs, we’ve got something happening right across the region.

Most importantly, thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, donors and grant providers, no holiday program costs more than $20 per child. We believe every family should have access to high-quality, experienced coaching and inclusive programs, regardless of their circumstances.

❤️ Fun first.
⚽ Skills second.
😊 Smiles always.

Places are limited and many sessions fill quickly, so head to the website to book early.

One of the most important parts of coaching isn’t telling children what to do. It’s giving them the confidence to think, explore and discover for themselves.

Every child in this photo had a different idea. Different thoughts. Different answers. And that’s exactly the point.

As coaches, our role isn’t to create robots that simply follow instructions. It’s to create an environment where children feel safe to experiment, make mistakes, ask questions and understand the why behind what they do. 🧐

Because the best learning doesn’t happen when a child is told the answer. It happens when they work it out for themselves. 💜⚽

It’s not often an Englishman gets to lift a trophy at the MCG… 🏆

We spent Saturday night at the migrants.life book launch and awards night in the iconic Members Dining Room at the mcg, celebrating the stories that help shape Australia’s multicultural community.

Migration can sometimes get a bad rap, but spending an evening listening to people’s stories is a good reminder that behind every migrant is a journey of hope, courage and determination. Swap the word migration for disability, autism or inclusion and exactly the same thing holds true. Different journeys, different experiences and different challenges, but everyone deserves the chance to belong.

As if hearing the remarkable story of Saroo Brierley, whose extraordinary journey inspired the film Lion, and meeting Simon Katich wasn’t enough, the evening finished with a moment I’ll never forget as I was honoured to receive the Community Impact Award.

Standing in one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues, holding a trophy aloft, is certainly something that will live long in the memory.

A very special night, shared with Grayson.

BIG news for our Casino families! ⚽💜

We’re absolutely delighted to have the support of Richmond Valley Council for our Casino BabyRoos program.

Thanks to RVC and our ongoing multi-year partnership with Queensland Airports Ltd, all 10wk BabyRoos bookings in Casino are now just $25!

That’s right… just $2.50 per week for smiles, movement, confidence building and fun-filled soccer sessions.

From day one, our aim has always been simple:
Create something genuinely affordable for families, while still delivering high-quality sessions that children absolutely love attending each week.

So if you’ve been looking for a positive, welcoming and pressure-free way to get your child active, now is the perfect time to join Coach Ellie and our amazing Casino Roos community! 🦘⚽

We’re incredibly proud to be part of the ‘Our Good NDIS Initiative: What Becomes Possible’ campaign by Kismet, highlighting the life-changing impact that inclusion, opportunity and community can have with the support of the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme

It was an honour to play a small role in sharing this important message and to stand alongside so many incredible people and organisations working to create a more inclusive future.

A huge thank you to the Kismet team for helping tell these stories and showcase what becomes possible when everyone is given the chance to belong and thrive.

Keep an eye out for the full interviews and stories coming soon. 💙💜💛

Last week, one of our Roos hit that “this is too hard” moment with a new skill. You could see the doubt creeping in. But they kept going. Tried again and again.

That resilience earned them a Rainbow Wow card, not for being perfect, but for refusing to give up.

At the same time, another Roo stepped up to help some younger kids who were finding it tricky, bringing the smiles and fun straight back.

Resilience. Kindness. That’s what our Rainbow Wow cards are really about. 💜⚽🌈

I mean, they might play with the wrong shaped ball and there were A LOT of handballs that the ref seemed to ignore, but that was actually a pretty good watch.
