After the bustle of the festivities fades, the journey back from one’s hometown always leaves behind a blend of warmth and bittersweet longing. The exhaustion feels completely worthwhile after days spent with family, yet there’s a heavy heart in waving goodbye to a childhood porch and the scent of a mother’s cooking. Now, it is time to pack those sweet memories back into the suitcase, carrying the lingering spirit of Eid as fuel to strive once more in the city until the time comes to return home again next year.
