Jews for Jesus Australia We relentlessly pursue God’s plan for the salvation of the Jewish people.

We are a non-profit organization made up primarily of Jewish people, as well as other followers of Jesus who are committed allies of the Jewish people. Jews for Jesus became the name of the nonprofit organization founded in the USA in 1973, but it’s nothing new; Jewish people have been believing in Jesus since, well, Jesus! Just as we have joyfully passed down our rich heritage from generation to generation, we also pass down the hope our ancestors had in a coming Messiah—a hope we believe is realized in Jesus. Many Jewish people have still never heard that faith in Jesus is a viable and thriving expression of Jewish life, and we want to change that! After all, every person should have the opportunity to decide who the Messiah is for themselves—not let that decision be made for them by rabbis 2,000 years ago. That’s why we facilitate Jewish community, offer spiritual care, and provide local services in over a dozen cities around the world. Here in Sydney, we host Bible studies, conduct events and discussions in our art lounge, and run a bookshop in Bondi Junction. In this way, we fulfill the mission God gave the Jewish people to bring His light to the nations. If Jesus really is the Messiah, there is nothing more Jewish than following him and sharing his message.

Today marks three years since October 7, 2023, a day of national trauma that left deep wounds across Israel and Jewish communities around the world.

Nearly 1,200 Israelis were killed, 364 of them at the Nova Music Festival, and 251 people were taken hostage by Hamas. Three years later, the grief, trauma and anxiety are still very real for many, and while some healing has begun, the path forward remains long and difficult.

And yet, there is also a hope that comes when we look back through all the horrors and say … we’re still here.

That hope has been woven through the history of the Jewish people. In the face of persecution, loss and repeated attempts to destroy us, we continue to say, Am Yisrael Chai. The Jewish people live.

Today, as we remember those who were murdered, those who were taken hostage, their families, and all those who continue to carry the wounds of October 7, we also hold onto the promises of God and the hope that tragedy does not have the final word.

The path ahead since October 7 will not be easy. And yet we will continue.

Despite the attempts to marginalize, minimize, and even destroy the Jewish people, we have survived … and we are finding hope.

As Sukkot comes to a close tonight, we’re taking time to reflect on the past week and remember God’s faithfulness. Sukkot reminds us that God is our provider and sustainer, in the wilderness and in every season of life.
What has reminded you of God’s faithfulness this week? Share with us in the comments.

Tonight, Sukkot begins!
As we gather in our sukkah, we remember how God provided for our ancestors in the desert and sustained them through every season of their journey.
Sukkot is a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness, His provision, and the joy of dwelling in His presence.

Wishing you a wonderful Shabbat and Chag Sameach!

There’s a lot about us that you may not know!

For instance, did you know that Jews for Jesus has a presence in over a dozen cities around the world? It’s in these places that our teams care for the Jewish community, speak up against antisemitism, and demonstrate that faith in Jesus is a viable expression of Jewish life.

We also house several brands and projects: coffee shops, art galleries, women’s shelters, hospitality houses, social groups, language services, and more! In all we do, our aim is simple: to share the love of God and the hope we have in the Messiah, Yeshua.

“During Yom Kippur, a new level of awe and reverence came upon us. This was not just a holiday but a holy day.”
For Bob Mendelsohn, Yom Kippur was always filled with mystery, reverence, and the longing to know whether God would forgive.
Now, as a Jewish believer in Jesus, the Day of Atonement has taken on new meaning — not as a day of uncertainty, but as a day to remember the forgiveness, cleansing, and atonement found in Messiah.

I continue to celebrate Jewish holidays now that I am a believer in Jesus. But certain holidays carry different meanings for me than they once did.

Tonight begins our most solemn of fasts, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:26-32). However you choose to observe, our prayer is that your time is meaningful and you find true reconciliation with the God of our fathers. G’mar Chatimah Tovah!

Yom Kippur begins next week. It is a time that calls us to repentance, prayer, and seeking God’s mercy.
But it also raises a deeper question: how is atonement actually made?

The Torah points us to sacrifice, mediation, and ultimately, we believe, to Yeshua, the Messiah who makes true reconciliation with God possible.

Swipe through to reflect on atonement this Yom Kippur.
