Ahmad should be playing at home or in the park. Instead, he and his three-year-old brother are both in hospital after being injured by an airstrike that hit a neighbouring home in southern Lebanon.

Hundreds of children just like Ahmad have been injured since hostilities surged in March. Children are bearing the brunt of the violence, with more than 370,000 children forced out of their homes.

UNICEF is providing safe spaces and delivering the essentials for families, but no child should grow up in war. Children in Lebanon deserve to grow up safe, healthy, and protected.

Around the world, children and young people are taking climate action and on World Environment Day, we’re celebrating them!

Like 11-year-old Halimatou in Mali, who along with her classmates, have turned a scorching courtyard into a green garden, bringing shade, learning and inspiration to her school and community.

When children are supported with the skills they need to drive change, caring for the environment turns into real action.

“I am proud to be a girl from Gaza.”

12-year-old Fatima moves through her day in a city she barely recognises. She’s learning in tents and worries about meals.

She also decorates the walls of whatever shelter she's in – because she has decided, no matter what, to be happy. She wants to be a doctor.

Fatima deserves to grow up in safety and with a future. Every child in Gaza does.

Every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated, no matter who they are or who they love. That’s why we stand with LGBTQIA+ young people.

We want every child and young person to have equal rights and the space to be proud of who they are. Together, let’s celebrate your strength, your joy, and everything that makes you unique. You deserve to be heard, to be loved, and to grow up in a world that embraces you exactly as you are.

Happy Pride. We see you. We celebrate you. We’re with you.

Every child deserves to have the love and support of their parents or caregivers – for their health, wellbeing, and development. Parents and caregivers give so much of themselves, and sometimes they need help too.

Around the world, UNICEF supports families with parenting programs, early childhood services, and safe, inclusive spaces for children.

This Global Day of Parents, we’re celebrating all their hard work to deliver the best possible childhood for their little ones.

Every child deserves access to clean water. But for children and families living in Gaza, clean water has become a luxury.

Fatima, 12, is living in a displacement camp with her family where her father was forced to walk long distances to collect water, often amid water shortages.

“After we were displaced, the hardest thing was finding clean water.”

Now, thanks to a UNICEF-installed water tank in the camp, clean water is available closer to their temporary home. For Fatima, that means she can help her family to collect water more easily.

Amid the ongoing crisis in Gaza, UNICEF will continue to support families in every way we can, no matter what.

Huge smiles for a lifetime of protection!

Last year, Nepal launched a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign, its largest cancer prevention initiative ever. From cities to rural areas, health workers worked with teachers, religious leaders, youth volunteers, and community members to raise awareness about the importance of vaccines like this one.

Partnering with the government, WHO and Gavi, UNICEF helped vaccinate more than 1.6 million girls – teenagers just like Prashansha, Sita, and Bhuma.

Thanks to vaccines like this one, we can make sure children and young people will grow up safe, healthy and protected from preventable diseases.

Every girl and young woman deserves to live in a – and innovations like help make it happen!

Oky is a period tracker and education app created by girls, for girls. We know that menstruation can be a topic of fear, shame, or misinformation. That’s why we’ll keep supporting initiatives like Oky and empowering girls to put their menstrual health first.

Reconciliation Week is a time to honour the strength, culture and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. It’s a chance for all of us to listen, learn and walk together, and to reflect on the role we each play.

This year’s theme is a powerful call for all Australians to commit to reconciliation every single day.

Reconciliation is ongoing; it will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us. Let’s take action this week and every week to make change and go ‘all in’ on reconciliation.
