Inspired Carers Based in Shepparton, we provide information and support to parents raising a child with a disability, throughout the regional area. Who are we?

INSPIRED Carers are a parent and carer support group for families of children with additional care needs. We support parents and carers whose children have a variety of additional care needs, including chronic and life threatening illness, physical, intellectual, neurological, behavioural and developmental delay concerns. INSPIRED Carers employ a program manager and a parent support worker on a pa

rt time basis. Staff are managed by a voluntary Committee of Management who who meet monthly. We are funded by the Department of Education and Training to deliver the Strengthening Parent Support Program in the following local government areas: Greater Shepparton, Moira, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie. We also facilitate the My Time program in the Moira Shire area. Our role:

We provide assistance and support to families and carers, and gather/share information through:
- the circulation of information across different platforms;
- community education / training opportunities
- individual information & Support
- small group support sessions
- parent social events. We liaise regularly with service providers and agencies and promote awareness about families of children with additional needs. Membership to our organisation is $10 per calendar year for families/carers and $25 per individual for professional/ organizational membership. Membership benefits include
- eligibility to elect to Committee of Management
- Discounts on workshops and training opportunities
- Access to specials events

Parents of Teens - Did you know ACD have a Virtual MyTime just for you?

Virtual MyTime for parents with teens is an online peer support group for families of teenagers with disability.

At Virtual MyTime, they have practical, encouraging conversations with others who “get it”. It is an opportunity to connect and share with other families during the highs and lows of the teenage years.

Nature Neighbours has blossomed! 🌻

🦄 Come along to to connect with self, others and non-human nature
🌱 Thursday evenings | Fortnightly | Starting Feb 5

✨ Group times
• 12–17 years: 4–5:30pm (one week)
• 18–25 years: 5:30–7pm (alternate week)

🌿 Sessions take place at changing outdoor locations, allowing us to explore different places and spaces. Once registered, locations will be sent via SMS each week.

🚐 Transport available for young people living in Greater Shepparton. To organise transport, contact Loz on 0429 619 798.

Caring for others often means holding space for deep emotions — both theirs and your own. This workshop is designed to help caregivers develop resilience, confidence, and understanding when navigating the difficult transitions of grief and loss in themselves and build understanding of how grief presents in those they support.
