📱 National AusAlert Test on 27 July 2026 at 2:00 pm

On Monday 27 July 2026 at 2:00 pm (Queensland time), a test Critical Alert will be sent to mobile devices across Australia as part of the national testing of the new AusAlert emergency warning system. Devices may vibrate and emit a siren-like warning sound for approximately 10 seconds, followed by a message clearly identifying the alert as a test.

Main Information:
- The alert is only a test and no action is required.
- Most mobile phones, and some smart watches and tablets, are expected to receive the test alert.
- Not everyone will receive the alert at the same time, and some devices may not receive it at all. This is expected and is one of the reasons for running the national test.
- People who may be disrupted by the alert, or those with a hidden safe phone, can avoid receiving it by switching their device off or placing it in aeroplane mode before the test and leaving it off for at least one hour.

The opening will be officiated by The Honourable Dan Purdie MP, Minister for Police and Emergency Services.

Eumundi–Noosa Road safety improvement project – construction will begin soon on the next stage between the Emu Mountain roundabout and Lenehans Lane. This is expected to finish in early 2027, weather permitting.

𝐄𝐔𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐈–𝐍𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒 🚧🚗 With TMR advising they have taken traffic impacts from Noosa Council’s Doonella Bridge upgrade into consideration, resulting in most works to be undertaken at night, construction will soon commence on the next stage of safety improvements along Eumundi–Noosa Road between the Emu Mountain roundabout and Lenehans Lane. The works include road widening, a wide centre line treatment, improved shoulders for bike riders, audio tactile line marking and new roadside safety barriers, with completion expected in early 2027, weather permitting. In response to our queries, while some daytime works will be required, construction activities and traffic will be actively managed to reduce congestion.
