100 students 💯💯💯

Six months in, and CUC Snowy Valleys has welcomed its 100th registered student.

Benjamin Hannan is a third-year fitter and turner apprentice who signed up alongside his fellow apprentices. For Benjamin, the hub means staying connected to study without leaving home - no moving long distances, no having to choose between work, family and the community he's part of. That's exactly what the CUC was built to do.

100 students is 100 locals backing themselves and investing in their future right in the region. And it's only getting started.

UPDATE: CUC Snowy Valleys has just increased enrolments to 108 students 🎉

Some community connections span a lifetime.

Before joining CUC Snowy Valleys, Centre Manager Janette Wilson spent 16 years working as a registered nurse and midwife at Tumut District Hospital, helping to welcome many local babies into the world.

Years later, two of those babies are now students at CUC Snowy Valleys.

“To have held someone at their very first breath and later watch them move confidently towards their future is beyond words. I love seeing these students I helped bring into the world succeed.”

It’s a special full-circle moment that captures the strength of regional communities, people supporting one another through different stages of life, from the delivery room to the study room.

💛 Today is R U OK? Day! But you can ask the question any day.

Someone being quieter than usual, missing class or struggling with everyday tasks can be a sign they’re not OK.

If you’re thinking it, ask. A simple conversation can make a real difference, not just today, but any day.

Today is National TAFE Day!

Across the CUC network, over 1,100 TAFE students have been supported since 2019, gaining qualifications, building skills and contributing to their regional communities.

In the past few years VET participation across the CUC network has almost doubled, from 7% of students in 2022 to 12% in 2026.

CUCs across Australia are a physical symbol that tertiary education is available, achievable and something to aspire to in their community.
