AAFT The Australian Association of Family Therapy Inc (AAFT) is a voluntary nonprofit organisation.

It was founded in 1979 as a development from the Family Therapy Interest Group based in Melbourne and was incorporated in 1989. AAFT is a non-profit organisation managed by a volunteer Committee of Management. AAFT sponsors research in family therapy, professional development programs and has hosted national and bi-annual conferences since 1985. In simple terms AAFT is an association of profession

als with a shared interest in Family Therapy theory and practice. AAFT allows people to keep connected and up to date with what’s happening in the field of family therapy through workshops, professional development, the newsletter, conferences and networking.
