What do you know about our program ?
"Formally Ever After is a community program dedicated to making formal events accessible to all Students and Individuals in need . We provide second-hand formal wear to those struggling to access formal wear , ensuring everyone can attend their special occasion with confidence.
Our main aim is dressing students for Year 12 Formals , ensuring no young person misses out on attending this huge milestone
Our inclusive program supports individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, mental health concerns, body image issues,terminally ill individuals and those from remote or marginalized communities.
We also offer specialized support, including:
- Recycled wedding dresses for brides-to-be, 1000 plus wedding dresses gifted
- Court attire for those in need
- Formal wear for individuals with terminal illnesses and older adults
-Special hampers throughout the year
-Assistance with Formal Tickets and other associated cost of Formal
-Assist remote communities with Nadioc Balls
-Support for Funerals
Through partnerships with other charities & groups we redistribute donated items we cant use to maximize impact & to further support more of the Community . Annually, we divert thousands of items from landfill, promoting sustainability and community kindness.

Formally Ever After Qld Inc is 100% Free . We volunteer our time to make this program work. We rely on donations of Formal Wear and accessories from our Community
Founded by Tammy Robinson in 2019, Formally Ever After has made a difference in the lives of over 10,000 students and individuals, with the support of 330500 community members on our page from all over Australia
Formally Ever After Qld Inc has a motto of 'Kindness is Free '
Started in 2019 from my kitchen , thinking if i can help one student that would be enough . My thought was just make a difference . I wanted to make sure no young person missed out on attending their formals
Within a few months wed outfitted 236 students . 2020 started quiet with covid but by August we took off again and the need for help sky rocketed again helping even more students
The community donated their used formal wear and we began setting up community members to become drop off locations to make donating even easier
Each year as we grew we faced challenges as we ran the program from our garage . In 2021 , We had floods through the dress area but we battled on , getting everything washed alone , almost 1000 dresses . We began helping more then just locals ,we made connections in Remote communities and groups around brisbane and qld . We sent 100s and 100s of dresses & suits to aurukun for their very 1st ball ,for school formals and for community events . Word spread of what we were doing and we had more schools and organisations reaching out to bring students and individuals. We moved houses and tackled the mammoth job of moving what had grown into formal wear and accessories taking over one level of our rental home .
In late 2023 after our move we continued to build connections , helping students from over 220 schools and sending boxes after boxes to remote communities.
We found out the rental we were in was going to be sold so again we had to look at another move in 2024 . But just a few days before the move there was a fire at the Storage king we stored formal wear in . We had 1000s of items stored there as we had been prepping for our move . We lost everything in storage . But through community support from all over Australia we built back up within 3 weeks and reopened to our students . It was a very hard time and such a big loss but i knew we couldnt let this stop us so through the tears we just kept getting back up and moving forward . Our community was too important to give up the program we had built to help others
With community we were able to keep going and the downstairs of our home overflows with donations . We have been able to help our community more by doing christmas hampers , mothers day bags and supporting many small groups and individuals with items theyve needed . We also do wedding dress giveaways often helping terminally ill people to have their dream wedding .
We share what we get donated where it needs to go also ,whether it be to help women in DV , homeless people , local alternative schools
We help with formal tickets for those who cant afford the ticket
We have sent formal wear in box loads to Yarrabah , lockart river , Rockhampton, Cherbourgh , Bamaga , Aurukun ,Tenterfield, Townsville, Normanton, Yarrabah , Warwick , Ballina and recently to Northern Territory to help many communities.
We also help by providing formal wear we cant use to be repurposed by a local school for dance and drama costumes . We have outfitted many elders in the community for special events and helped outfit many individuals from disability services
To date we have outfitted over 10000 students and individuals.
We dont have a number of dresses, items or suits that have passed through but it would be in the 10s of thousands plus some .
We have approximately 65 drop off locations now making donating even easier
We havnt done this alone . Weve done it as a community.
We have had so much support along the way by so many
Pretty much every tuesday last year i was booked for school groups or other groups and most weekends we outfit on one day of the weekend .
In 2026 I opened bookings for Tuesdays and Wednesdays plus every 2nd Friday for school groups & individual appointments on one day of the weekends
I would estimate between the appointments , the sorting , the social media , the washing , the tidy up after appointments , my husband & I would spend approximately 60 hours volunteering a week on the program .
