We are dedicated to supporting & empowering First Nations families across the region.

MARABISDA was incorporated in 2009, with the objectives of supporting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander people and their families' aspirations in their cultural, educational and sporting endeavours. MARABISDA wanted to ensure that our community's uniqueness was recognised through the inclusion of Australian South Sea Islanders within the governance of the organisation, recognising the close interfamilial and generational bond between all three (3) cultures in the Mackay district for 150 years.

💛 Isaac Family Wellbeing Day — what a turnout!

What an amazing couple of days in Dysart and Moranbah! 💛

Hosted by IFWS Marabisda and Girudala, our Isaac Family Wellbeing Days were all about bringing families and local services together, creating connections and having meaningful conversations about the support available in our communities.

We loved seeing so many families come along, have a yarn, connect with services and enjoy the day. And of course, the colour run was a huge hit for the kids...and the adults too! 🌈😂

A big thank you to every service that came along, got involved and helped make the days so special. We appreciate the time, support and commitment you put into connecting with families across the Isaac region.

We’re grateful to be able to provide support in communities like Dysart and Moranbah, and we know how important it is to have services that are willing to come to where families are.

💛 To families across the Isaac region, if you need support, reach out. If we can help, we’re here. If we can’t, we’ll help connect you with a service that can.

Thank you to everyone who came along, had a yarn, joined in and helped make the Isaac Family Wellbeing Days such a success. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 🌈💛

🌿 Party in the Park | Child Protection Week 💛

What a beautiful day at Party in the Park, hosted by Mackay Regional Council for Child Protection Week!

Child Protection Week is incredibly important to Marabisda. It’s a time to come together as a community, raise awareness, strengthen families and remind our mob that every child deserves to grow up safe, supported, connected and surrounded by people who care.

We have to admit, the weather had us worried during set-up! 🌧️ But as soon as the event kicked off, the rain cleared and the day turned absolutely perfect. ☀️

It was an amazing event filled with community, connection, activities and plenty of smiles. We’re so grateful to be able to attend events like these and connect with families, services and our wider community.

A big thank you to Mackay Regional Council for hosting such a wonderful event and to everyone who came along and made the day so special. 💛

Together, we can help keep our children safe, strong and connected. 🌿
