Make A Wish Australia (Melbourne branch) is absolutely thrilled and proud to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate our amazing volunteer Rick, who has just completed 15 years volunteering with us.
Rick is an amazing volunteer, as are all our volunteers at Melbourne branch.
Rick’s love for Make A Wish is absolutely evident when you meet him and talk to him. Rick is absolutely passionate about Make A Wish.
Rick has recently taken on the Volunteer Care Coordinator role. We could not have a better person in that role. Rick’s love and enthusiasm for Make A Wish will be very evident to the prospective volunteers he interviews for our branch. I am sure people will not be able join our branch quick enough once they have spoken to Rick at an interview.
Rick is also very hard working and puts his heart and soul into creating amazing Wishes for children with life challenging illnesses. Rick will do anything for the kids whose wishes he is involved with. Nothing is to much for Rick when it comes to creating amazing Wishes for kids it’s life challenging conditions. Having done Wishes with Rick, I can honestly say I don’t know how is more excited when a child receives their wish, the child or Rick!
Rick is also a committed volunteer. Volunteering isn’t always glamorous and often involves hard work. Rick doesn’t back away from this part of volunteering. Rick frequently puts his hand up to assist with fundraising events and will be at venues early in the morning to set up things, organises things and runs around during the day to ensure an event’s success and then assists with the clean up.
Rick is a very valued and loved member of our branch.
