Our legendary leader and our team at Surfrider Foundation Yuin Country were really proud to work in conjunction with the legendary from and these incredible First Natiions artists to not only raise awareness for our little branch with a big heart, but to also support these artists to tell their stories through creative art pieces that 4 lucky winners got to take home.

‘If you can dream it, you can do it’ -

When we formed Surfrider Yuin, spearheaded with our First Nations leader, Muz (aka ) we had a vision that would speak loud and clear our intention to be guided by the voice of local mob. Yesterday, at our event at .milton.hotel , I’m pretty sure we nailed that.

Massive thanks to who donated these epic boards to our little branch with a huge heart for the ocean. These boards were painted up by local indigenous artist and Aunties and Aunty Eileen Carberry, with story, with meaning, with immense pride and love. Their love for family, Country and sea ‘Gudhu’ expressed in every stroke.

We had some lucky winners whose level of stoke to now possess not just an epic board, but this beautiful art made us all smile big. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and supported our cause. We wished we could prize all of you up.

Thanks to those who came to support and snapped up our brand new shirts, designed by our very own Muzza. If you would like one for a measly pineapple, let us know in the comments your size and we’ll get them on order for you. Your purchase will go towards supporting our branch grow.

How epic is our Yuin surfing community. and were stoked to be invited to share the message with an awesome crowd at last nights premiere screening of ‘Inner Mechanics’, a short film from featuring big wave legend,

Honestly, if you get a chance to get along and see this film, that’s a creative mix of gnarly action, and a little of the inner mechanics of the man himself, , make sure you get along

Our SR Yuin wise man, with a huge heart for surfing and the ocean, , stepped up right after local legend .salmon from gave his heartfelt Welcome to Country, echoing the cultural significance and importance around caring for the ocean breaks we all love so much. In Wayne’s (AKA Mooz) words -

‘What a beautiful evening. Big thanks to Russell and Andy for inviting us along. Also everybody from the community. Surfrider Yuin branch values stand for truth telling, caring for country, sharing first nations culture, togetherness, love, and deep respect for each other and all living things. Working together with mother earth to help restore all its natural beauty is really important to us. Fighting for the next generation our children’s future and beyond. We are like-minded people from all walks of life just sharing the dream. Surfrider rocks, and we are proud to represent them.’
