Homewell

Homewell Homewell is celebrating over 30 years of providing home care services throughout Melbourne.

Homewell supports people of all ages to live as independently as possible at home across Melbourne. Everything we do is based on three pillars: dignity, respect and integrity, so you can rest assured that our team of Careworkers is experienced, well trained compassionate and committed. Our managers and care co-ordinators assist in creating care plans, that are reviewed regularly. Our aim is to sup

port people in the areas they need assistance, but not take away their independence. For some that means helping just a bit, any thing from an hour a week right through to 24 hour care. We help people with any type of daily living activity from showering and dressing through to domestic chores, shopping or going to appointments or social events. We even provide extra services for anyone living in a care facility, but wanting that little bit of extra help. To find out more have a look at our website, send us an email or call 9572 9300.

Homewell is growing, and we’re looking for an Operations Manager to help lead the next chapter.

We believe deeply that great home care should be personal, local, and deeply connected to the community it serves. Those beliefs have been at the heart of what we do for over 30 years - and we're looking for a leader who shares those values.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people, loves building strong teams, and wants to make a real impact in a fast-moving, purpose-driven environment.

As part of Kinyara Health, we’re building something a little different in the care sector. We’re combining strong local teams and genuine relationships with the systems, support and innovation needed to thrive in a changing industry, without losing the human side of care.

If that sounds like you, or someone you know, we'd love to hear from you. Click below to learn more.

NEW GUIDE: How to Access Home Care Funding

Support at Home is now the main government-funded program for older Australians who need help at home - but depending on your situation, it may not be the only funding pathway available.

Now, there's extra funding available for things like:

• Assistive technology, such as mobility aids, shower chairs or other equipment
• Home modifications, such as grab rails, ramps or safer bathroom access
• Short-term restorative care after a fall, illness or hospital stay
• End of life support at home

We’ve created a new guide to help explain what these funding pathways are, who they’re for, and how to access them.
Inside, we walk through:

• What funding is available
• What services and supports it can cover
• Who may be eligible
• How the process works
• What to ask your provider or assessor

Click below to download your copy, or give one of our friendly home care experts a call and we'd be happy to chat about it with you.

For many people and families, conversations about palliative and end-of-life care can feel difficult to start.

But talking earlier can help make sure a person’s wishes are understood before decisions become urgent.

This week is National Palliative Care Week, with the focus on “Getting to the heart of it: Big Questions. Real Answers.”

For older Australians receiving care at home, this can include questions like:
❓What matters most to me as my needs change?
❓Where would I feel most comfortable being cared for?
❓Who do I want involved in decisions about my care?
❓What support would help my family or carers feel less alone?

This week is a reminder that these conversations do not need to happen all at once. But starting early can make a meaningful difference.

If you’re wondering how to start a conversation about palliative care, Palliative Care Australia has put together a helpful video.

What happens when you start the conversation? This National Palliative Care Week (10-16 May 2026) we are getting to the heart of it - by encouraging earlier c...

Today was a very special day at Homewell, as we celebrated Angela’s 25th anniversary as a Support Worker.

Angela is a truly special person. She would do anything for her clients, and the commitment and dedication she’s shown, turning up for them every single day for over 25 years, is nothing short of remarkable.

She’s seen incredible change over that time. From arriving at the office with paper timesheets, to navigating the struggles of two-factor authentication on her mobile, something we can all relate to. 😂

It was a privilege for the Homewell team to celebrate Angela with a lovely afternoon tea, a heartfelt message from our CEO Norbert, and of course, a cake featuring her favourite team, Collingwood.

To thank her for 25 years of service, we presented Angela with a travel voucher so she can visit family.

Angela, we’re so grateful to have you on the team. You represent everything Homewell stands for, and you’ve touched the lives of hundreds of people over the past two decades in such a positive way.

Once again, thank you!

The Government has announced the release of an extra 20,000 Home Care Packages between now and November!

This will help more older Australians access the support they need – and it comes ahead of the new Support at Home program launching in November.

We’re already reform-ready and set to help clients smoothly enter into the new Support at Home system.

Here’s why locals choose us:

✅ Local care, familiar faces – you’ll see the same trusted support staff each visit.

✅ Direct access to your Care Manager – no call centres, no waiting in queues.

✅ Support at Home ready – so you can be confident the change over will be simple

If you want to be with a provider who's ready for the changes and puts you first, get in touch with us below.

Is your Home Care Package still giving you the support you need? It's normal for your needs to change over time, but your package should change with them.

Here are 5 signs it might be time for an upgrade:

💰 Sacrificing essential services – Skipping physio, cutting cleaning visits, or delaying care to cover other costs.

🏥 Recent hospital visit – Needing wound care, medication help, or mobility support after being discharged.

🚶 Struggling with everyday movements – Finding it harder to get out of bed, climb stairs, or stand from a chair.

🤝 Relying more on others – Asking family, friends, or neighbours for lifts, bin runs, or extra help.

🌏 Less active in your community – Missing social outings, skipping events, or avoiding appointments you used to enjoy.

If any of these sound like you or a loved one, it's time to get reassessed. The good news is the process is quite simple, and you can find out how in our blog:
