We're proud to launch the official website for Trangie NAIDOC 2026, celebrating 50 Years Deadly and fifty years of NAIDOC Week on Wiradjuri Country.

The website is your hub for all things NAIDOC 2026, including event details, the program and ways to get involved. We'll continue adding information as plans are finalised, so keep checking back for updates.

Walk Country: a change of plans

The wet weather has beaten us this week and we cannot safely get onto the land, so Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are off. We are still getting together for one day.

Wednesday 10 June 2026, at the Trangie Wungunja Cultural Centre. We will do the same learning and planning from inside, working with photographs of the sites, our stories, and the knowledge in the room. Bring any photos of Country you would like to share.

Meet 9:00am, finish 3:00pm. Lunch provided.

Walk Country: Learn from the Past and shape the Future

We are taking our Elders and our young people out on Country to learn together, listen together, and plan together. Over four days we will walk the land around Trangie, hear the stories that sit in it, and plan how we care for and develop our cultural lands for today and the generations to come.

Past, present and future on Country.

When: Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 June 2026

Meet: 9:00am each day at the THRIV3 office, 37 Derribong Street, Trangie (old Doctors Surgery)

Finish: 3:00pm each day

Lunch: provided every day

Everyone has a place in this. Elders, young people, our Rangers and our teams, we walk together.

🙌 Welcome to the family, THRIV3 Rangers.

This is a big moment for us. Our first full-time Rangers are here, and the community of Trangie showed up to celebrate in the most beautiful way.

To Uncle Rusty Gale, the Wungunja Dancers, the Wungunja Culture Centre, the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council, Jessica Skinner, and our THRIV3 executive team - thank you. This welcome meant everything.

And to Sam Brennan - you were there in spirit. Welcome to the team.

This is just the beginning. Follow along and watch what we build together.

What an awesome project.

Big thanks to the schools involved in this project, with amazing leadership and involvement from Narromine Shire, Trangie LALC and local community groups 🙌🏽

A massive shoutout to Mr Troy Jones, Tanya McMaster, and the talented students from Trangie Central School and Trangie St John’s School who absolutely nailed it 👏🏽

And to our elders and community members, thank you for sharing your knowledge and stopping by to lend a hand or pick up a brush 🎨

We are excited to see it all come together.

We are incredibly excited to see local school artists bringing the Goan Water Hole toilet block in Trangie to life 🎨

A huge thank you to Narromine Shire Council, Trangie Central School, the students and staff, along with local Elders and community members for making this project possible.

The creativity and community spirit on display is something special, and we cannot wait to see the finished result.

Join us this Friday at 1:30pm for the official opening. We would love to see you there.
