🎉 NAWIC NQ Trivia Night 🎉

Get your team together, sharpen your general knowledge and get ready for a night of laughs, friendly competition and a few surprises!

Join us for NAWIC NQ’s first-ever Trivia Night!

Gather your crew, grab a drink and bring your best game face. Your ticket includes canapés, plenty of laughs, great company and, of course, the chance to prove your team has what it takes to take out the win!

And the best part? It’s all for a great cause.

Proceeds from the evening will support The Cure Starts Now and The Breaking Point Challenge, helping fund vital research into paediatric brain cancer. Come along and show your support for local construction legends Aaron Ohl and Daniel Hussey, who are taking on the Breaking Point Challenge to raise funds and awareness for this important cause.

And because no trivia night is complete without a little extra competition… we’ll also have some fantastic raffle prizes and a charity auction! We’ve already had some incredibly generous donations, with all raffle and auction proceeds going directly to The Cure Starts Now.

So, round up your team, bring your competitive spirit and join us for a great night — all while helping support an incredible cause.

🏗️ CONSTRUCTING HER CAREER | Showcasing Careers in Construction

Last week, NAWIC North Queensland was proud to deliver Constructing HER Career for a second year in partnership with Paynters, bringing together women and girls from across North Queensland to explore the many opportunities available in construction.

Hosted at TAFE North Queensland – Bohle Campus, the event created a space for school students and women seeking employment to connect, ask questions, get hands-on and, most importantly, see what a career in the industry can look like.

The Hot Seat was a highlight of the morning, with an inspiring panel sharing their experiences, career journeys, challenges and advice:
✨ Hannah Gander – HJ Contractors
✨ Ameliya Gibbs - Paynters
✨ Prof Bouchra Senadji – Head of Engineering, James Cook University
✨ Izabel De Buck – TecNQ school-based electrical apprentice & North Queensland Regional Finalist for the 2026 Queensland Training Awards
✨ Deni Knuth – Roofguard
✨ Lesley-Claire Howard – Architect
✨Paul Goldsack - Paynters

The hands-on interactive sessions gave participants the opportunity to get involved and try something new, including:
• Civil Construction with TAFE
• Augmented Reality Welding with the Townsville Manufacturing Hub
• Architecture Pavilion Challenge facilitated by Peddle Thorp

A huge thank you to Kylie from the Townsville Manufacturing Hub for getting the girls involved in the interactive activities, and to TAFE North Queensland for hosting and supporting the hands-on sessions.

We also loved having CPB Contractors join us to speak with participants about the opportunities they currently have available and the pathways into their industry.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our event partner Paynters, our speakers, panelists, volunteers, TAFE team, industry representatives and everyone who contributed their time and energy to making the day possible.

To every girl, student and jobseeker who came along — we hope you left with new ideas, new connections and a little more confidence about what your future could look like.

The wait is over — tonight’s the night!

We’re getting ready to kick off NAWIC NQ’s very first Trivia Night, and we can’t wait to see you all at Molly Malone’s!

Get your team together, grab a drink, settle in and get ready for a night of trivia, laughs, friendly competition, raffle prizes, a charity auction and plenty of fun!

But tonight is about more than just bragging rights…

We’re proud to be supporting The Cure Starts Now and The Breaking Point Challenge, helping raise funds for research into paediatric brain cancer.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the event, donated prizes, put together a team and helped make tonight possible. And of course, a special shout-out to Aaron Ohl and Daniel Hussey for taking on the Breaking Point Challenge and putting themselves through the ultimate challenge for such an important cause.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry professionals, hear from the project team and gain valuable insights into the delivery of a major project.
