Townsville City Council is improving the Loam Island Access Road in Rasmussen 🚗

Upgrades include asphalting and widening the existing dirt road. A popular spot for Townsville's water sport community, these works will improve the accessibility of Loam Island and Ross River.

🚧 Construction commences Monday 21 March and is expected to be complete by Monday 11 April 2022.

Loam Island Boat Ramp and the carpark will close during these works, however the Loam Island Community Facility carpark will remain open with traffic management onsite.

Put the new kayak and bixpy jet 2 , through its paces today. Although loud thru speeds,1,2, and 3 it was pretty good thru the rest of them . Thanks to the other fellas putting in and pulling out the boats for their patience with me passing about , … and oh yer the yak and motor passed with flying colors.
