Ecopella singing on tomorrow morning 8-9am in Queens Park near the Canon.

The location of a street tree could be the difference between a property value boost or drop, new research finds.

Street trees in suburbs within the City of Sydney boosted property values by up to 1 per cent — but having them too close to buildings could have the opposite effect, devaluing properties by 3 per cent.

"If the tree sits a little bit further from the property, between 10 to 20 metres, the price increases by 1 per cent … so about a $30,000 price increase [on the median home price of $2.6 million]," lead research author Song Shi said.

We had our first Ecopella sing session today at the Botanical gardens to raise our spirits and awareness for tree protection.

We even had a lovely man hear us singing and bought us all donuts to share!

Join us 8am-9am the first Saturday of the month each month. All welcome even if you don’t want to sing and just want to listen or help take photos and hand out information.
