Drum roll please.... this month's speaker is... Tiffany Shafran
Tiffany is a Toowoomba‑based artist whose practice has unfolded over more than twenty years of making, teaching, and working in the arts. Rooted in craft and design traditions, her work gravitates toward found and repurposed materials - objects softened by time, marked by quiet histories, and carrying the gentle weight of personal stories.
Her studio practice has ebbed and flowed through different seasons of life, each one leaving its own imprint on the way she gathers, holds, and transforms the things we keep. Through this rhythm of making, Tiffany explores memory, value, and the tender impulse to collect what feels precious. Her PhD, Relics of All Things Precious (University of Southern Queensland, 2012), continues to shape her materially focused practice, offering a steady thread through her evolving work. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, with pieces held in both private and public collections.
Alongside her studio practice, Tiffany has worked as a tertiary educator, curator, and arts producer within a regional gallery context. She holds a deep passion for nurturing the artistic practice of others, supporting artists through exhibition‑making, mentorship, and public programs that foster confidence, connection, and creative growth. Her work in regional Australia reflects a belief in the power of art to build community and to honour the stories that shape us.
Tickets go LIVE this Sunday.
