A beautiful day of sharing culture through food, conversation and connection at the Lockyer Community Centre, proudly organised by CAMS Lockyer. 🤝🍲

It was wonderful to meet people from diverse cultural backgrounds, share stories, celebrate our differences and strengthen community connections. Together, we continue to build a more inclusive, welcoming and connected community.

🏑⚽🏐 Celebrating Multicultural Month Through Sport!

A fantastic day of multisport, connection and community with TAFE Queensland AMEP students, bringing people from diverse cultural backgrounds and all ages together through the power of sport.

From hockey and soccer to volleyball, the day was a wonderful opportunity to build friendships, promote inclusion and celebrate the diversity that makes our community stronger.

A big thank you to Toowoomba Hockey Association, Mercy CAMS – Social Soccer Program, TAFE Queensland AMEP, Multicultural Affairs Queensland, Multicultural Australia Youth Services, Welcoming Clubs and the Queensland Government for your valuable support in making this event possible.

We were pleased to represent the Darling Downs African Communities Council (DDACC) at the 2026 Celebrating Multicultural Communities Reception held at Queensland Parliament House yesterday.

A wonderful evening celebrating the diversity, strength and contributions of multicultural communities across Queensland.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect, network and strengthen relationships with community leaders, organisations and government representatives.

We are proud to continue representing and advocating for our communities and building stronger connections across the Darling Downs and Queensland.

Harmonious Homes – Thank You to Our Community Leaders

A heartfelt thank you to all the community and faith leaders who participated in our two-week Harmonious Homes Domestic and Family Violence workshops.

This important initiative was delivered in collaboration with Mercy CAMS, DDACC, Multicultural Australia (MA) and QPS, with our sincere thanks to FACC – Family and Child Connect for facilitating the final session, and to all organisations and leaders who contributed to the conversations.

We especially acknowledge the African, Ezidi and Islamic communities, Christian faith leaders, and all communities across Toowoomba for your valuable participation.

The conversation does not end here — our next step is to take these discussions into the wider community and continue building safer, stronger and more informed communities together.
