Congratulations to the Gamilaraay People ❤️ "On 11 April 2026, the Gamilaraay People celebrated their native title recognition on-Country in Thallon. The Gamilaraay People were recognised as Native Title Holders over approximately 18, 848 hectares of their traditional Country on the Queensland and New South Wales border on 16 December 2025. The recognition recognises the Gamilaraay People’s enduring connection to Country and their resilience and perseverance during their native title claim which was first lodged in 2017."- Queensland South Native Title Services

Check out this new fuel tracker from the Balonne Shire Council. It's the first of its kind in Queensland. Hopefully it will bring some peace of mind to our beloved tourists in coming months.

The South West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils has developed a fuel availability dashboard to give travellers the information and confidence to travel safely around our area.
